A Different Outlook for Monday

Ok so yes we do have 4 of our best defense lineman out Monday V Detroit and that is absolutely going to make things a lot harder and I'm sure that we likely lose this game. BUT what if we don't? Think about the guys we have that are going to play in this game:

Mike Morris: played under Mac at Michigan
Trevis Gipson: Has talked about how he plays 100% and feels like he's underrated
Tyus Bowser: Used to play for Baltimore. Spent over a year injured. Played for Mac, huge opportunity
Derick Hall: 1% odds of even surviving birth
Dre Jones: Everyone has said that his contract was an overpay and he wasn't used correctly last year
Matt Gotel: Coming off an injury in camp. Literally his dream to play for the Hawks and told Gregg Bell "this is my year"
Myles Adams: impactful when he has played but hasn't gotten much opportunity.
Jonathan Hankins: tons of family in Detroit, from there

All these guys lead by Geno Smith who continues to be underrated and forgotten about by national media and who has owned Detroit. I'm not saying they are going to win. I'm not saying I wouldn't rather have our starters in there. But these are all guys with chips on their shoulders, beating the odds, underrated and forgotten and Mike MacDonald is the perfect coach to mesh these kinds of guys with a scheme he used to destroy the Lions last year. He talks about how excited he is to see these guys play because opportunity has presented itself.

It's obviously going to be a really tough challenge and we're going to be at a disadvantage and I'm sure this is all copium but idk, we have a shot to do something special here on Monday and if we can pull this win out in primetime, on the road in a tough place to play, being without what is essentially our entire starting defensive line, then Mike has to be frontrunner for coach of the year and we are going to start to be talked about as contenders.

I didn't think Mike was going to have this huge of an impact with the starters, why not the back-ups? We are playing with house money at this point...4-0!
The last time the Seahawks went 4-0, they won the Superbowl

The thing i love about it is that its a HUGE opporrunity. Moreso than if we went in healthy. IF we go into Detroit and beat thee Lions with ourr backup Dline and with a 3rd string RT, the league is officially on notice that this team is for real and in a big way.

More importantly, if we go in and win with that group, i think it fundamentally changes how this team thinks about itself. The confidence they stand to gain... the bond that is strengthened... among the players, between players and coaches and top to bottom along all 53 plus PS... its the kind of thing that instills a confidence and swagger that can carry a few Ws by itself.

Could be season altering, not that its not already a nice start. But it can galvanize belief on the 24 squad that they are contenders.

Bring it!

Totally inspiring point of view and I LOVE it. But lets look at the other side of that coin. What if Detroit throttles us by an embarrassing score. How can we turn such an event into something to build on going forward?

I'm not inserting a pre made excuse , if Seattle loses , then Detroit was the better team that night.

However , missing the players the Seahawks are missing , if Seattle wins ... Whooaaa

Sorry, we are winning this one.

This is the game that glues our players into a Superbowl team. This is the game put fear into our future opponents.

Go Hawks.

i think you may be right. It’s early but man I see the Hawks in the playoffs this year.
A win in Detroit down with as many down D lineman would be a huge confidence boost. My Niners are just done, injuries, age, exhaustion and now fighting over the color of practice shorts. Just a wasn’t meant to be with this group. they are the 80’s Bills.
My wife and her sisters are monster Hawks fans, and honestly looking forward to her having something to be happy about.
