I sure hope other people take the time to stop and appreciate the Coaching Greatness that is Pete Carroll. We are smack in the middle of the golden age of Pete Carroll.
What a goldmine of nuggets from his presser, that say so much about the environment Pete has created here, the trust between the team and the players. Basically there were no fines for violations of team rules, not because of lack of enforcement, but because players were showing up, being on time, and just being part of that Seahawks culture.
Pete is, at times, almost overconfident in his ability, in the envrionment he has created, to help young players develop good work habits, and become quality NFL pros. But then, aside from a couple (*cough* Percy Harvin) failures, he's got a pretty good track record.

(On Jadeveon Clowney’s reputation of having questionable work ethic) “Duane had a lot to do with that. He’s practiced against him and told us what we’re up against and what we’re dealing with and all that. I watched him coming out of college, and there were times where he went and times where he didn’t. When he did, he tore it up. So, that’s just a young player to me. He had a lot of acclaim, a lot of notoriety coming through, we saw that so many times in college. Guys having a tough time with connecting what great effort is really all about. We’ll see what happens, he’s in our program now. I don’t care what happened before, now that I know he’s here with us, we’re going to coach him up to be like our guys.”
(Clowney) "He had received a lot information through Duane and other people that he talked to that knew this would be a fun place for him to come and go to. He just has been as positive and excited as about it as anybody that we’ve ever brought in here. So, what more could I ask for? It was great.”
(On what it was like going through the process of cutting Geno Smith, Nick Bellore, and Jarran Brown and bring them back) “Well, this is really an illustration of trust. They trusted us and we trusted them. As they went out, we intended to find a way to get them to come back and they believed in us and hung with us and I think there’s a lot to say, in that regard, to want to be part of the program and they were willing to wait it out. We had every intention of doing what we did, and everything worked almost to the tee like we hoped. When we realized what we were up against, those guys really helped us make it happen.”
"(On what he had to communicate (to Jachai Polite) over the rumor of him being fined with the Jets for being late) “He’ll get fined here too I guess. I don’t know. We had next to no fines on this team this whole time. Next to nothing. If someone jumps out like that, it would be really obvious.”
