PC & Co. have been taking the 'safe' road with rehabbing players...Avril, Clemons, etc. They're in no rush and there is no panic.

He won't be back until he's 100% healthy. Book it.

He was excused from practice Thursday and Friday because he was sore.

Where did you hear this?
It is on dot com:

Harvin, who had hip surgery on Aug. 1, returned to practice this week. But after working on Tuesday and Thursday, he was given Friday and Saturday off because, Carroll said, he was sore.

Pete didn't sound real optimistic even about Harvin's being ready for next Sunday, noting that it's a short week. We could be looking at the Atlanta game before he sees any significant action.

Hell I would just be happy to see him on the sidelines for a game at this point. I feel like we just bought a brand new Ferrarri la Ferrari and somebody in italy is telling me (italian accent enabled) " The paint, she's a not a quite dry yet. Be patient".

I hope the doctors and trainers keep him out until Atlanta. The longer he needs to get healthy, the less time our playoff opponents will have to study film on the upgraded Seahawks.

Remember that we activate or lose Harvin within 21 days from the time he first practices. Given that his first practice was this past Tuesday (IIRC), I believe we'll see him NLT Atlanta. He may see spot duty vs Tampa Bay.

Unless he re-injures himself before then, he'll be activated prior to the Atlanta game even if they don't play him. But I suspect you're right, we'll see him for a couple of plays vs. the Bucs, perhaps not even a touch, then a few more vs. the Falcons.

As things progressed throughout the week, the more and more I began to doubt that Harvin would play tonight (despite all the optimistic reports out there). The more I've thought about that, the more certain I am that sitting him is probably the right move.

Think about it -- not only is this is a guy who is coming off surgery (and is of course in the process of rehabbing) ... he is also in the process of getting himself back in football shape. Training Camp opened on July 25th. He had surgery on August 1st, so he not only missed all of the Pre-season ... he basically missed all of training camp as well.

Not only that, but Harvin missed a lot of time LAST season as well. He injured his right foot clear back on November 4th facing the Seahawks (kind of ironic if you think about it) ... and missed the next 3 games after that. The Vikings finally placed him on IR on December 6th, ending his season.

So, Harvin hasn't actually seen the field since facing us clear back on that November 4th game in Seattle last season. In total, he missed 7 games last season ... and has thus far missed 7 games this season. That is a lot of time.

Yes, I know that Harvin has been working out since being cleared by the doctors to begin his rehab in September ... but that's not the same thing as being in football shape. Of course he's sore because he's not fully in football shape yet IMO.

Personally, I'd say that the Seahawks are handling this correctly. Of course Percy is champing at the bit to get back on the field ... but that doesn't mean that he should necessarily be on it at this point. The worse thing in the world would be to rush him out there ... and then for him to re-injure himself because of that and lose him for the entire season.

Honestly, after taking an in depth look at this match-up tonight ... I'm quite confident in saying that the Hawks really don't need Harvin in this game. If that's the case (and he's sore), then why not be a bit conservative and give it a few more days. I know that fans are clamoring to see him, but this just seems like the prudent move to me.

They have to activate him by Atlanta though.

Glad they're holding off. I'm hoping he plays next Sunday. Have him and Mike Rob come out of the tunnel holding 12th Man Flags. The place would go nuts.

They can activate him and still not play him. We really do not need him at this point. Where we will need him is for the playoffs. If he gets at least a little playing time before then to shake off the rust, I will be good with that. A few plays against the Saints and then a few more against the 9ers to get back to normal will work. He can start really playing after that.

I predict that our WR core will have spectacular night tonight.

They should, the Rams have one of the worst pass defenses in the league.

We win EVERY matchup other than the Rams D-Line vs. our O-Line. But that's the same as it was last week, and we were able to run and pass the ball on Arizona. Russell also NEVER makes the same mistake twice, so I look for him to have some fo serious ball security tonight. No more fumbles.
