I know the Perrish Cox news had already been posted but I haven't seen anything on here about the second half of the NFL.com write up on it; Pete said that DeShawn Shead will now work entirely as a safety while Cox will be the backup CB. Just found that interesting. Mods feel free to delete if already on here.

JJ just got IR'd so I can see DS filling that spot at backup SS. Cox takes DS' spot at backup CB.
It will be interesting to see DS and Cox play. Maybe if we have a big lead vs the Gnats they will get some play time.

They might play on ST and they should be in the rotation for nickle or dime I would imagine.

There is some talk about bringing in Shead to cover TE's or RB's out of the flat where they had Wright do it before because they don't think Smith can cover as well. So that means more 3 safety sets which means Shead will get more time.

He said he wasn't cut because of his skills but for another reason he would not go into. Which turns out was the fact that Browner's suspension was being appealed and looked to drag on longer than the team thought.

Shead was drafted as a safety if i remember correct.
and he played it all through training camp.
