C'mon, have a little more respect. I'd prefer they give him a nickel package.

All I know is that Kam supposedly wanted one more million moved from 2017 to 2016

He is now giving up the second pay-check at about $250,000

That means that with the extra cap money saved that will roll over to next year Seahawks just needs him to sit out two more games and then they have the million he wants. Paid for by Kam..........

Yep sounds like good advice from his agent

Players don't take longer deals for more security. They have NO security in the NFL. The NFL can tear up a contract just like snapping their fingers. You're Cut. That's it. Got hurt? No more money for you. Buh Bye.

If players had THEIR way, they'd all be signing one year deals so as to maximize their profits. It's the NFL that wants long term contracts that they can tear up anytime they want. Taht's what gives THEM security.

You have it ass sdrawkcab.

And this is the way it's been since the dawn of free agency. If the players want it changed, then they need to quit agreeing to the current structure each and every labor negotiation.

Kam is trying to change the way the ENTIRE league honors it's contracts, this is unprecedented. So hell no we're not going to give in and create a disaster scenario for not only us, but the entire league having hundreds of it's players asking for more money with 3+ years left on their deals.

Well the Seahawks were going to do something for him (and likely will if this is to be resolved before week 10) so I guess John and Pete are in this camp as well.

Maybe you could point out where the team said anything of the sort? I have seen a report alleging this from a so called reporter, quoting the ever present unnamed source...but nothing with any kind of credibility. Yet, you seem so positive that the report was correct.

If it does turn out to be true, it was obviously and inexplicably rejected by Kam which means it has little bearing on the situation as it exists now.

Many different sources (local and national) have stated there was negotiation. I don't know if the numbers reported were true (I agree with you...how could Kam had turned that down unless they tried to squeeze for a little more and got the offer pulled).

It is relevant now because if you remove emotion from the situation there is a solution other than rubbing Kam's nose in poop.

Man, I have put WAAAYYYY too much effort into worrying about somebody that doesn't want to be here.

Moving on to the TEAMMATES that will be playing GB this week.

Part of me thinks this should maybe be moved to the NFL forum, since this is about a guy not on the team.

(yes I know, he is under contract, but I think you can see the point, rather you agree or not.)

I have a #11 Harvin jersey and was not sure what to do with it. That jersey is now the prefect thing to have.
I changed the #11 to #31. Duct tape is great. Too bad I do not have an A-Rod jersey.

Someone should have their small child write Kam a hand written letter and somewhere in there they should guilt him by saying that they will give Kam all the money in their piggy bank if he comes back.

Just brainstorming here, folks!

And why should they....avoid "rubbing his nose in poop" as you say?

Kam is letting down his teammates and more with his choices. Why should he receive some sort of compromise or reward when he has zero leg to stand on, and is failing to respect his team in the process?

If his nose has to be rubbed a bit, so be it. Nobody forced this upon him.

You say that like somehow Kam isn't rubbing the team's nose in poop.

With each passing day, the chances Kam returns to Seattle and plays for the Hawks decreases, at least I look at it that way. I mean, how many times has there been a holdout of this length and the player returned to his original team?

If and when Kam comes back there will be bitching and name calling etc, until he knocks out the first receiver, then all will be well with the world.

We will fall back in love with the player and forget the business man part of Kam.

I think walter jones held out for 2 games and no one even thinks about it.

Up until the Rams game, I think this would have been true. Now he's (arguably) cost us a game. If this goes on even a few more games (and there is no end in sight), I think the damage will be irreperable. It may already be irreperable. I am starting to think that we'll never see Kam in a Seahawks uniform again.

It is entirely possible that I missed something, but every "report" I saw was merely a quote of the original allegation by one journalist (though I really hate using that title for the vast majority of the folks putting out what they call news...sports or otherwise...today) and running with it.

We will probably never agree on either the intent or necessity, but I don't really see most suggestions as "rubbing Kam's nose in poop"...though I can see how it could be so interpreted. I see most as more demonstrations "pour encourager les autres" rather than with an intent to humiliate him.

Walter Jones was franchise-tagged three times. Walter Jones had a legitimate beef. Also, when Walter Jones "held out", he had not yet signed his franchise tag(s). That was a completely different situation from Kam's holdout with 3 years remaining on his contract.

For some it seems to have gotten personal to an extent that they want him humiliated. In any event I would still rather see him back than executed (metaphorically speaking of course).
