Going for it did work, and it was a good choice, though it may take second level thinking to understand that.

It pinned Pats deep, and they didn’t score on their next possession.

Never been a fan of this thinking. Points can be scored in a single broken play. The advantage gained by going for it was about 15 yards on average there, easily attained - whereas in the other scenario, there's three additional points.

Love the subtle insult by you there, tho.
