Why even HAVE a backup QB if the backup cannot reliably throw a football?

That QB will never be a starting QB. Reasons to have a QB as a backup:

1 - get the green QB reps so he is ready as the starter in waiting. (not an option for this QB)
2 - spell the starter for part of a game to 3 games in case the starter cannot go (best to have a vet for this. That QB cannot do this either)


Before the snow, and with the wind - he was still worthless. I wanted NE to win (because who wants to see a SB with no competent starting QB on one side?) but my God. Denver made a weird roster decision to carry this guy as a backup, that essentially cannot even backup.

Worse, his incompetence made it difficult on the run game - as their D could just stack the line.

Denver had every chance, given the weather evened out the imbalance, but that QB should be cut tomorrow. That was awful.
