I think Ziggy is at that point where he may be functionally healthy but not stress healthy yet with the injury, those that have had a severe injury to a joint know what I mean. That stress healthy takes time as rehab and scar tissue has to now be broken down and rebuilt for stress level.

If this is the case, why'd we waste 9-13M on him this year if we knew he'd need a full season to regain his stress health.

I get it, anytime a player's coming off a major injury it's a gamble. We gambled on Ansah, and we lost. Plain and simple.

Third week in a row this place has been obsessed with sacks.

For damn good reason - pass rush and disrupting the pocket is the engine that drives defensive success. You HAVE to pressurize the opposing QB in this league.

QB ran for 100 yards. I would say they did a good job of collapsing the pocket. Too good at times. Would have lived to have a spy like we used to do to Kaepernick. I just don't understand why they didn't do to Jackson like the did to Kaepernick and rush Clowney and Ansah from the left side of the D and push him to the left and have him throw across his body to one half of the field. Spy with Wagner or Kendricks.

With that said, pressure is a better indicator than sacks. Also taking into account whether or not the opposing offensenis using a quick strike or flat and/or screen passing game.

Oh you missed that, Wagner was the spy for Jackson, but if you watch most of his big runs Wagner got blocked by the FB or pulling lineman.

I guess give Baltimore and Harbaugh credit, they know how to scheme Jackson loose on plays he likes to run on. But also Pete and Norton deserve criticism, when you're playing a QB like Jackson, you better have your defense coached up and gap sound so those kinds or runs don't happen.

4th and goal after a timeout where you know Jackson's talking his head coach into going for it with the game on the line, and you allow him a lane to run into the endzone untouched?

C'mon man, that crap defense.

It's week seven, how much longer do we have to wait. Boy that Ziggy really turned it on in week 14, so glad we signed him.

Dude's been a ghost.

It was all about his potential and risk to hoped for reward. So far it was as you say a mistaken acquisition and he needs to turn it on in the last half of the season to justify his salary.

Ziggy is listed as questionable vs the Falcons, and Jefferson is already ruled out.

Are we surprised? Jefferson is more of a loss than Ziggy.

He has been injury prone for a few seasons now, and the team took a chance in acquiring him at zero cost to compensatory picks. So far he has been mostly invisible and likely will not show us much, he hasn't been a positive addition. Still it was worth a shot and maybe towards the end of the season he will contribute.

improving the pass rush is something I have grumbled about for quite some time. To me it's all about pressure and the ability to hold an edge, sacks are less important than the foregoing but still very important too.

As has been said here the team needs a twitchy guy like Von Miller that needs to be accounted for each pass play who can also hold his edge. I believe the team will try to keep Clowney b/c he is a solid base end and a building block player who can rush the passer adequately but isn't spectacular but makes plays.

The pass rush needs to come together soon or the team is not going to be a top contender this season as it is a missing critical factor.

Clowney's a top 10 DE, but because our D-line is so mediocre he's being double teamed just about every down. In fact I think he's leading the league in double teams.

So I don't blame Clowney, I blame the rest of the guys on the D-line for not helping him out.

And Clowney is still around the QB most of the time. Your right SGT the rest of that D-line needs to step it up. I do have a feeling that one of these games the pressures and sacks will come in bunches. Even if its against a weak O-line.

With the lack of pass rush why not scheme some blitzes?
Probably won't have to this week but definitely need to start getting creative.
