Playing on the horrible Redskins turf.

It injured too many people, and impacted the game numerous times.

1. it probably injured RG3.

2. Chris Clemons got his foot caught in the turf, and got a (likely) torn ACL

3. Hauschka tweaked his ankle, no doubt to the turf.

4. Golden Tate tried to spin away from his guy to get the 1st down in the 2nd quarter (redzone), and slipped, no doubt due to that horrible turf.

Dan Snyders got tons of money, but he can't upgrade that turf.

Did I miss any?

Rich people are rich for a reason. Their only concern is money. Lots of it. Fixing the field costs money. So...field stays shitty.

The NFL really should have field standards...if that field is not acceptable to be played on, then the game is played on the other teams field...simple.

Got nothing to do with money having shitty fields to benifit the home team has been a tactic going back years. It just backfired and i am glad it did.

And that covers it. Of course if that POS Goddell really was concerned about player safety instead of spinning out of lawsuits, he'd demand the turf in DC and Shitcago and anywhere else like this be replaced. But he's nothing more than a POS Spin Doctor who's more interested in keeping the owners' profit margin at insanely high levels than actually doing something for the good of the game so it won't happen. If he were not, there would've never been replacement refs.

While I completely agree with the premise that the condition of the field was inexcusable given the monies involved...your post is shack worthy.

Pierre Garcon rolled over his ankle when it got sort of stuck in the turf too.

It was inexcusable, absolutely. I just haven't seen any evidence that money was the sole reason for it. If you have any info stating that was the case I'd love to read/watch it.

I wonder how severe Clemons' knee injury was. He was seen later on walking without a limp. Might have just been a garden variety sprain.

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is worth how much again? More than a billion, right? That kind of loot would buy a lot of sod. The playing surface at FedEx Field was a disgrace. It's tough to know whether it contributed to a couple of knee injuries suffered in this game, but why take the risk? The weather was beautiful for January, but the field looked as though it had weathered a tractor pull recently.
