If he had acted this way and was the potential future of the Seahawks would you feel the same way?

I would have been pissed at the hawks for drafting a 2 year starter redshirt sophomore and then not waiting it out on his development. The guy showed some stuff on the field this year. Has what, 6 career starts? But should have none. I didn't like him as a first rounder, I liked him as a project. His short college career in a spread meant 2 or 3 years of development, minimum, to me.

Besides, I said I like him, and hope he succeeds. Not that I hoped the Hawks had drafted him or that he was a future star. I think he has the tools, but a desperate team is the last place he should be.

Ok, the guy is immature but he isn't the asshole Leaf was. I don't like him but he does have talent and being Wilson's backup for 2-3 years might be the best thing that ever happened for him. And I believe in the case of Wilson missing 6-7 games he'd keep us in it just like Brock Oswieller did for the Broncos.

Personally, I don't think the drinking is a huge problem but for Seahawks fans to compare him to RW talent wise is kind of embarrassing.

RW is twice the QB JM will ever be.

I agree. I think he might be as good as Alex Smith in the right situation, right team, right coach. Tier 2. But never a tier 1 quarterback like Wilson.

Make no mistake good tier 2 quarterbacks on seriously good teams that are tier 1 in the other areas can win and win big. What makes a quarterback tier 1 is when in certain critical areas their team is tier 2 and tier 3. And they still win and get into the playoffs and still win almost year after year and if it all lines up play in the Superbowl.

I can't believe people are seriously pining to have him as a back up in Seattle. No one sees the problem with an immature, spoiled, and egotistical virus joining the team?

Boy lots of sarcasm on here. Is Manziel exactly like Wilson? Obviously not, but give me 3 starting quarterbacks in the NFL who's playing style is closer to Wilson's than Manziel and I'll rethink my comment.

As previous posters have mentioned, we're not talking about bringing aboard a still drunk and stupid, and unserious version of Manziel, but IF he grows up in a couple of years and is willing to be a backup, and IF Carroll is still the head coach then I'd guess the odds of it happenning to be around 25%.

Carroll has raved about Manziel a couple of times when someone brings his name up, so I believe Carroll appreciates his playmaking ability and we know Carroll believes (rightly or wrongly) that he has the magic touch to help troubled but talented players (see Harvin, Percy).

Not to nitpick, but have you ever heard Pete say a negative word about anyone?

Alvin Bailey for one - basically called him overweight on the radio more than once :)

Browns should stick him on the non-football injury list for being an alcoholic. Do they get out of paying him if they do but still retain his rights? Because that would be awesome and be exactly what he deserves.
