I love Kearse's spirit, his story, and all he's done for us but my patience is wearing thin with him. Does anyone have a count of how many of Russell's career interceptions were towards Kearse? Willing to bet $100 most of them were thrown in his direction

Kearse has always seemed lazy to me, not like a choose to be lazy but sometimes his body language is weird.

Anyone else notice that?

^^^I hear you on that. Its telling when he doesn't try to fight for the ball.

^^I'd add on top of that his laziness is what caused the rub route to fail against Browner in the Super Bowl. If he pushes it enough it impedes Butler. But I won't open up that can of worms again

I wonder how well you would do getting off the ball with a guy like Browner having the initial step to engage and then be expecting to move and or impede him, this is the guy that tosses WR's like empty beer cans and takes out guys on special teams like a bouncer.

But yeah go ahead and continue to bash a WR that has contributed heavily in our success over the last few years.

+1. Laziness? Give me a break, that's ridiculous.

Am open minded to other WR's being given opportunities to compete but until a Kasen or McElvoy gains more coaching by trust than Kearse then.. he must be still the guy for RW to get behind. Kearse's record suggests it will pay solid dividends come crunch time.

Beat me to it. Browner at that point was still the toughest CB in the entire league to get off the line of scrimmage against.

It's still the fault of the play call. You don't expect a guy to get off the LOS against Browner, especially when he isn't worried about you beating him deep. We don't have a WR on this roster that could pull that off, unless you split Willson or Graham out there.

The ground is getting a bad Rep.... :stirthepot:

Hell, at least the ball doesn't bounce off of the ground's hands and into the opposing secondary's hands.

I wouldn't do well, but I'm not a wide receiver.

I love what Kearse has done for us, that doesn't mean he hasn't also failed in many respects. I'm not questioning his ability to push Browner, I'm questioning the effort on that play. I felt he lacked effort for what was otherwise a good play call if executed properly. Kearse didn't do his job on that play and in my opinion didn't fight his heart out on that play. That's my opinion

I don't think Kearse is lazy, I think he lacks the killer mentality. When there is a potential interception he just lays off and lets the other team get the inside edge. You would think the coaches would stop choosing plays that end up with throwing him fades in the end zone.

Kearse is a Seahawks Legend in the Playoffs.

Is he worth what we are paying him? No

Is he worth his roster spot atm? Nope.

Would I thrown him the ball in the back of the endzone from the 1 yard line to win the SB? Yup.

Look at what Kearse does in the playoffs... some guys are just Derek Jeter when the games on the line.

But I'm not sure he has been as good in the playoffs as people think. In the Super Bowl he dropped a crucial third down that would of sealed the game against NE. His performance against GB before the big catch was abysmal too. He has made some spectacular plays and still has my favorite play the TD catch and run against Denver.

just a few off the top
Niners Div Game free play catch
NFC Champ game OT catch
Broncos SB TD run after catch
Patriots SB spin catch (would of been the greatest catch in Seahawks history if we win that game) (Comparable to David Tyree's)

Kearse is not playing like hes Worth 6mill right now but the guy has been everything you want in a #2 WR before this season.

I think we should expect more out of the #2 WR position. 40-50 catches a year and 0-5 TD's is not a good #2 in the NFL, it's not even a good #3.

The ONLY reason Kearse is on the field is because he's a better blocker than any other WR on the roster except for Doug. So Pete keeps trotting him out there to not catch balls and block well 50% of the time for other WR's and RB's to make plays.

I can guarantee you that'll be priority #2 after addressing the O-line in the off season, draft or sign a bigger flanker that can give us better production than Kearse.

Lol you do recall 2 of Wilson's 4 ints in the nfc championship were great throws kearse flat out dropped right? One game winning catch doesn't make up for those.
