I recorded their training camp special that was playing over the weekend since I was gone to be with my buddy for Seafair Weekend. I sat down this morning and started fast forwarding to get to the Seahawks. First 5 hour broadcast, from Saturday, nothing. Second 5 hour broadcast, nothing. So I moved on to Sunday, Day 2. Surely they would be featured at some point on Day 2 right? First 5 hour broadcast, nothing. Second 5 hour broadcast...

You guessed it.

Nothing.

Unless I missed it while fast forwarding - but I doubt it because the thumb nail would show me each team's logo/segment - the NFL Network did not bother to cover the defending world champions even ONCE!

Unbelievable!

And it won’t change when we win it all again this season.

It's possible that it has to do with them being featured on Hard Knocks. The film crew for Hard Knocks is with the NFL but why would they want to show stuff that happens before it airs on the show? Just a posibility. Essentially they are being featured and covered but we just have to wait to see it as part of the show. Tomorrow is Episode 1!

The League, and sports media in general, all seem to want to abbreviate and move past the Seahawks being the best in the land as quickly as possible. It's almost as if they view us being the champs as an "off year" for the NFL and they're eager to move on and get a more deserving "blue blood" franchise back it the top spot. I'm not really bothered by it at this point in my life, it's more interesting than anything now.

It'll just make it that much sweeter when we go win another one and jam it up their collective asses.

Look at it this way, Team coached by Peter Brady kicked everyone's ass last year in his second year in the league, we were supposed to be what 7 and 10, we lost all out weapons on offense and had a scrub reject QB, we kept beating the pundits predictions every week, we didn't give flashy story lines for the mediots to feed on. The league and especially Florio kept pushing for Jody to sell, I wonder why, too successful for their liking? Keep the 49ers and Rams on the back burner in the West? Whether it's Egypt, South Alaska, or a blank space with There be Monsters here written on it, we keep doing what we do, we keep making ourselves relevant even when the league and media do everything they can to make us irrelevant as the can.

We have raised our head and had many rule changes done due to our fanatic fans, or our team being better than the rest, legally, we keep coming back to prove them wrong, it was supposed to be a Drake May highlight show last February. The new Brady, yep that worked out didn't it.

So sit back enjoy what they don't give us, the move to commercial during the draft on our pick, the putting a Super bowl team on Hard Knocks, the negative predictions, the flat disrespect a Rams, Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, or 49er team would never get. The day of getting news comes when we kick the shit out of teams like those and kick the door down. The other side is when they laugh when we were not good and those teams were beating on us. I'll take this version.

I have seen so many shows/drafts in my lifetime where they spend forever on other teams and when they get to the Seahawks it's "Uh Seahawks, yeah they still exist, NOW ON TO THE PACKERS"
Spent many years out of the Seattle area, much of it pre-internet. Watching the various sports highlight shows could be very disappointing. I feel you. It has been so nice to have this site to catch up on Hawks news.

I'm back in the Seattle area now, so I refer to the Times daily, but this is still the place to be.
