Mike Salk is adamant that we waste a 2nd round pick on one of these mediocre 2022 QBs. The consensus is that there are no 1st Round QBs in this draft. That doesn't mean some foolish team won't reach for a QB in the 1st. After all, Tim Tebow got drafted in the 1st round.
But with all the talent at WR, DT, OT, and DE, why should we pass on one of these uber talented players to grab a QB that will never amount to anything? Nothing would frustrate me more than watching a player like Perrion Winfrey or David Ojabo rack up double digit sacks while we have a weak QB riding the pine.
Brock Huard said that if Drew Lock were in this draft, he'd be the #1 QB.
But don't take my word that a 2nd round QB is a wasted pick, look at NFL dot com's NFL QB Draft Year Rankings. See how many 2nd round QBs became a starter....I'll give you an excerpt from 2007 Round 2: Kevin Kolb (No. 36), John Beck (No. 40), Drew Stanton (No. 43)
Bonus 2013 Draft Round 1: EJ Manuel (No. 16) Round 2: Geno Smith (No. 39) LOL!
