Interesting perspective on our guys, but you're seriously underrating Golden Tate. He's the only WR that had zero drops year before last in the league, and last year he was #2 behind Harvin for dropped passes, I believe. Now that Wilson's here, watch the numbers go up; but we're also not dependent on an elite #1 like a lot of other teams are, so you're not going to see elite numbers by any of our guys, most likely; but the top several will all be very effective.

You should want Tate over any receiver on your roster besides Crabtree, IMO. Hell, he leads the top 100 plays of 2012 list right now with 4 appearances, and he only had 45 receptions last year. Go watch all the plays involving Tate on that list right now, starting here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... lays-91100 Also read this PFF article on Tate here: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2 ... lden-tate/ Then see if you still think he's just a typical #2/#3 type of guy.

Also, Wes Welker had more dropped passes than anybody in the league last year. Part of that is due to a high number of targets, but there are plenty of guys in the NFL that had at least 80% of the targets he did that had nowhere near his 15 dropped passes; and he had an elite QB throwing to him.

I will be the first to admit that I've only watched a couple of SEA games, other than the SEA v SF games (SEA vs. BUF, SEA vs. GB, and SEA vs. ATL). In those games, I just don't see a guy that really scares me. Put it this way, in Week 2, the priorities for stopping the SEA offense are:

1) Keep Wilson in the pocket (if possible, definitely not easy)
2) Contain Lynch, make him run between the tackles (if he plays, which is likely)
3) Get to Wilson (Justin Smith is now healthy as is Aldon, which should make a big difference)
4) Bracket Harvin on long pass plays and use Willis / Bowman for short screens and dump-off passes. We actually had a pretty good game against him vs. Minnesota last year.

If we can do that, we'll live with plays to Tate, Rice, Miller, Turbin, and others.

I think you're overly obsessed with guys that "look scary". Welker has made a living off of not looking like a scary "deep thrett OMG he'll burn yew" receiver, along with many others.

By all means, please ignore Tate and Rice. You'll get a whooping like you did the last time you were at our house.

I don't know what you consider a pretty good game but leading his team with 9 catches for 89 yards and most of those yards coming after the catch doesn't sound like a pretty good job to me. According to this article http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/9/27/3 ... -breakdown titled Percy had his way with Niner nation, apparently I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Something to consider about Tate, we were a heavy run first offense early in the year and only scratched the surface of their ability the second half but what you did see from Tate was serious YAC. In fact he was #2 in the leage for YAC last year. Now only if we could get that guy that beat him out in that stat. Oh wait, we already did. That's right the only guy with better YAC was Percy Harvin. Yeah we went out and got the only guy that ranked higher than Sherman too in Winfield. We're kinda good like that.

You can say they don't scare you but the funk of Niner fear is heavy in the air.

You know who doesn't scare me? Michael Crabtree and along with his absence, Anquan Bolding, Vernon Davis or any other Niner receiver without Crabs pulling coverage. What should scare you is you are returning one player from last year who caught a pass from Kaepernick and that guy wasn't even close to his favorite target and from reports out of OTA's apparently he still isn't comfortable throwing him the ball.

Someone who has been left out of the conversation is Miller. He has been somewhat quiet helping develop the O-line but this is year three with Cable add in the addition of Harvin and you very well may see the probowl version of Miller we signed out of Oakland. You started to see it in the playoffs last year as the line improved and Wilson better utilized the pocket. There really is no reason he shouldn't be out running patterns on a much more consistent basis this year and if you factor in Miller into that equation, is there a better top four in the league? Well then how about adding in Baldwin for fun. You know him as the rookie that Harbaugh coached at Sranford and then passed him up in the draft to come into Seattle and be our #1 receiver his rookie year.

I bet you wish you had Baldwin about right now.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. You apparently aren't aware that Wilson was just as deadly from inside the pocket as out right? Good luck figuring out how keeping him in the pocket works out.
