Yep, against police brutality. I thought this was already widely known...

Yes, but when I read his opinion I see something glaring. Instead of starting a foundation to improve inner city race relations, or bringing police officers into schools in a non-enforcement capacity ala D.A.R.E. they chose a path of disrespect.

It's not the first time I've read the article. I get it, he's throwing money at things hoping it'll stick somewhere, showing his face and hoping his stardom will help.

Like I said. Be more like JJ Watt. He didn't just throw his money at the Hurricaine, he started a movement that raised far more than he ever could.

Be more like the 1996 Trailblazers that opened and funded a boys and girls club in Portland.... that's STILL giving to the community and funded by the players.

There are a million solutions that are better than whining. So yes, I still stand by my statement that the league is not taking a firm enough stance against grown multi-millionaire employees (many of which have degrees) throwing a fit, instead of working together to create a lasting solution.

I respect that many here are trying to rationalize this but it is not an organic movement like MLK. Look up two names. Black lives matter. Read their operation statement. Then look up who funds them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,George Soros.

As kidhawk stated in the opening post, Let's try to keep it related to our team/players.

Crappernick is a guy we didn't offer a contract to.... likely because of these shenanigans

Well if your at a NFL event and under your ticket purchase in the fine print it states you must stand, remove your hat if you have one, turn off electronic devices and place your hand over your heart during the National Anthem would you do it or risk being removed from the premises or having your season tickets revoked?

After all the Market is there to replace you in a seat with someone that will.

How would you feel and or react ?

I mean if it's a NFL stadium and they are dictating policy while you are there then shouldn't the Fans follow it as well as concession and other employees also?

I'd be fine with it. I'd be more than happy to take the seats that would be vacated then stand and honor our great nation.

Cause what I am saying is a lie? Prove me wrong "sarcastic eye roll"

The irony of this whole thing and it shows on this post is how divisive it all is. The flag and the anthem should not be a divisive tool, yet here we are. Neither should sports.

Any employees of team/NFL should follow policy as set or quit job.
Fans on other hand can do as wish...

Your in a NFL stadium, it's their property, stand and be recoginised or get the hell out, we have a line of would be ticket holders a mile long willing to take your place. Your obviously not a patriot or american and should be immediatly escorted to the Border, do not collect your bank account or personal property just get out. :)

See how this works once you start down the slippery slope they have built.

Has anyone seen anything of fans not standing? I'm sure there are a few but you sure don't hear about it. I know it was never intended to be disrespectful to the anthem but that doesn't mean it isn't. That would be like me saying the same thing if they held a moment of silence for shooting victims and I started yelling "Trump Sucks".

I mean I doubt you meant to be ironic. But Jesus.

What a crap policy and a crappy way to connect with your players.

I get people are sensitive about the anthem. But there are very few moments any athlete, especially of color, has an opportunity to make a statement that may actually be acknowledged. For that they are resigned to the underbelly of the stadium, out of site.. literally not to offend the very people they are pleading to.

This is unfortunate. NFL had a chance here.

America has enemies. None bigger than itself.

Nailed it.

I hope every single player stays in the locker room, that will be powerful and sends a very similar message.

Here’s what I saw happen, and what I see happening in the future.

People talked, and will talk primarily about the “protest”itself.

I heard very few intelligent discussions about the the reason the protesters started their protests.

There are valid reasons that the protests started but IMHO they shifted the focus away from the problems.

I think the NFL did what they thought was best for the NFL. I can’t fault them for that, even if it backfires.

What exactly is the problem? I think we have a social media hysteria problem.

Guess the Prez said beat it to the Eagles today regarding their visit...

Would be curious to see all the Eagles complaining about the cancellation asked if they were actually planning on going.

WH claims Eagles tried to rope-a-dope them by requesting 80 passes and then dropping it to single digits the day before. So more or less a no show designed to embarrass.

I'm increasingly saddened by everything being a political game.

I didn't see a single Eagles player, nor anyone related to the organization complain about this situation.

All WH visits require security clearance. You submit a roster of names for them to check. The WH can claim whatever they want, but they have zero credibility these days, and then they went on to further look like idiots by releasing petty statements and turning the event, LITERALLY, into "a celebration of the American flag with Eagles fans." What a joke.

Then the NFL and the commish just bend over and take it yesterday. Hilarious.

This is nothing more than an extension of this culture war that is being shoved down Americans' throats. No one talks about the issues at hand, no one talks about what the flag symbolizes, no one talks about the countless hours and dollars that these athletes pour into their communities and charities. There's a large portion of this country that just wants to complain about the protests themselves, they conflate patriotism with nationalism and refuse to believe that doing anything other than standing at attention with hand over heart is disrespectful to our service men and women, etc.

I hope all players stay in the locker rooms from here on out.

Kinda feels like you're shoving your own take on the culture war down our throats. Just sayin'.

Stating my opinion about this situation on a discussion board is shoving my take down someone's throat?
