No chance? As far as I can see, the Cowpatties are leading their division and there's no one clearly poised to take it away right now. They win the division and play a wild card team at home, it's VERY possible that they end up in Seattle for the divisional round of the playoffs.

But since you went the route of impossibility in a scenario that is nowhere near impossible, I can gather that my original ascertain is correct.

On surface it looks reasonable. When you understand cowboys football. You soon realize it's not.

First and foremost, they won't even make the playoffs.

If they are lucky enough to squeeze in. THE ONLY way they play Seattle is if they play them in Dallas. That means Seattle has to lose their division. That's more likely than your scenario.

Your scenario requires them winning a playoff game. NEWSFLASH. we don't do those kind of things in dallas.

Uncle fester, having your wife change teams is something she probably did for you and the family. She left a good team and great organization. That's not really jumping ship.
I understand when your an 8 yr old starting to like a team because of a player or 2 and I even understand a kid liking a great team even though I don't like it i understand it, but to jump ship because your owner sucks is wrong. You live with the good and the bad. Most people outside of ny hate the yankees but their fans had to live throught the Steinbrenner yrs in the 80's and early 90's when they sucked and he was destroying the team. Maybe the support was down, maybe they didn't get the big crowds but they didn't switch teams.

One question for OP, what happens if the Seahawks start playing rubbish and make bad decisions off the field, will you bail again? Spouses and partners might be interchangeable during your lifetime but sports teams are not imho.

Lolol. I'll ditch all of my sports teams before my wife.

The cowboys being bad and making bad decisions has nothing to do w me being upset.

It's the fact that they have zero interest in making the necessary changes that pisses me off

Let's start w Jerry Jones.

1) he refuses to step down as GM and hire a real one.
2) he has mixed intentions. He wants to win but it has to be his way. He's rather lose than win w someone else in charge.
3) he hires puppets as head coaches. Guys that have zero authority. Bc no Real coach (save for parcells) will work for him.
4) he only hired parcells bc he needed funding for the new stadium and he even said it himself.
5) he doesn't give a crap about his loyal fan base. His ego is so damn big that it gets in the way of every decision.
6) we are the worst salary cap managed team in the nfl. Gosh darnit. 25% plus annually of our salary cap is wasted on players who either aren't on the team or are being paid for nothing. Ie. Dead money.

I've mentioned this already. I'm not happy about joining a team that is so good. I don't like it.

I'm not leaving dallas bc they suck. I'm leaving dallas bc until Jerry dies-and there is no end to his life in sight-that organization will never be competent. I'm ok rooting for teams that suck. I'm not ok rooting for a team that sucks, doesn't care they suck, and doesn't care that the fans want change, and won't make it.

A filthy rich guy with an ego? Unimaginable! This is the first I'm hearing of such an affront.

Long time Seahawk fans, could say there has been many seasons that made them want to "jump ship".. IMHO a true fan may let the thought cross his mind, but would never follow thru with the deed itself.
I can't say that I admire your loyalty.
That being said, welcome to the 12th man, welcome to .Net.

Surely that can be classed as a bad decision.

What happens if the Seahawks start doing the same? What then? You didnt really answer this bit.

I think if you had come here and said hey guys I'm a DC fan but really respect the Seahawks and look out for them then fair enough but it's the fact you have completely abandoned *your* team.

At the minute we (the Seahawks) are like the mistress when you are having problems with the wife but they always say you shouldnt marry the mistress.

My problem is, I 've been a fan since I was 2 years old, which is literally when you're old enough to notice... I cannot, for any reason, fathom leaving this team behind. I'm the same with the Mariners. I just can't do it. There has been an abundance of horrific play and decisions made in this organization, and I've survived them all for what we have now. And I can honestly say, it has been an amazing ride all things considered. ALL things.

Quite simply; I am not a fan of the Seattle Seahawks because they are good. I am a fan because they represent my childhood, where I am from, and what I love about being a sports fan... Through the good and bad, I will live the 12th man dream. We ARE the best fans in sports.

The above is what makes me wonder... I still welcome you, but I also know that you'd be cheering for the cowturds if we met in the playoffs.

I didn't want dallas to draft RW. I did and still do believe in Romo. That organization has a laundry list of things that need to be fixed and Romo isn't on the top 20 of that list.

I wasn't too concerned where RW was going. I liked him a lot at NCST and even at Wisconsin for that one season but even I didn't anticipate him being this good.

The biggest problem with your cowturds is the owner. I think Romo is a good QB too but as long as Jerrah is the owner, that franchise is screwed. Oh, and Welcome aboard. You will crap your pants at a home game. It IS insane but Seattle fans have always been that way, even back in the Kingdome days. Stay loyal. :thirishdrinkers:

This topic should be moved to the NFL Forum. This guy is just venting about his Cowboys.

I'm not buying it.

After reading this thread, I feel like I am on a date with some girl I just met and she has spent the whole date complaining about her awful ex who happens to be named Jerrah.

But if Jerrah sends her some flowers, she gone.

Not everyone has a sports team where they are from.

Being a life long Mariners fan i can see how one could take such drastic measures as far as jumping ship and adopting a new team. i have so much blood sweat and tears (literally) invested in all my Seattle teams, i just couldn't bring myself to do it, not from lack of serious consideration either. Got to go with what's in your heart. Whether you like it or not you will always be a Cowboys fan deep down, and there's nothing wrong with that.

having said all that, welcome aboard, hope you have a strong heart, because these boys will test it from time to time...

Georgia Frontiere. Team moves to the midwest. Worst 5 year record in NFL history.

Still a Rams fan. Always have been, always will be - during the good and the bad.

Nothing wrong with liking or supporting another team as well, but I don't understand how you can completely give up your own team if you were truly a fan.

I jumped on the bandwagon for the 2005 season. That was an awesome season and I was hooked for ever as far as I can tell. I actually wrote down a shortlist based on my thoughts at the end of 2004. The three teams were the Falcons, Jets and Seahawks. I locked in at week 1 for a season that would've locked anybody in. I didn't bail during some bad years later on, though I did fore go the cost of the Sunday ticket during the Mora season. I'm in DC. There's one substantial Hawk gathering place downtown. I went this past weekend. It's standing room only and very rowdy these days. They had to share the 2nd floor with Broncos fans a couple years ago. I was at a party this summer and every body was saying why the hell do you like the Seahawks? So, this year we'll win the SB and I'll wear my shirt and hat like I have been for years and people will say, oh look at you jumping on the bandwagon for them because the Skins tanked. Oh well. I mention all this to say it's okay to take a new team. They are good when you are starting and if they become not good, stick around they will rise again. I am able to see every game. So, I don't think it matters that I don't live anywhere near the NW. I did go there on a vacation in May years a go. I took the guided tour of "Quest" which was very cool. Thanks. Enjoy your fandom.
