The Rams stay in St Louis. Neither owner in SD or Oak is capable of putting enough cash down to make the stadium work in Carson. The Rams have a viable stadium option, something Al Davis was not given and that is why he used anti-trust laws to leave town on both occasions. Oakland is 100% gone and the only other option is SD....

Never been to San Diego. Is SD vs. LA like the whole Portland/Seattle "little bro v. big bro" thing, or are they too laid back to care down there?

In my own little world, Oakland, San Diego, and St. Louis would all tell the NFL to go pound sand when it comes to giving public money for stadiums.

I don't have the source but according to a random reddit user:

The Raiders have agreed to move to the NFC if both Chargers and Raiders move to LA

&

The rams original move to St. Louis included contract language that they would switch conferences if needed in a future realignment.

So we'd be looking at an NFC West of: Cardinals, 49ers, Raiders, Seahawks and a AFC West of: Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Rams

both of those work excellently with the caveat of 2 Missouri teams in the same division.

My Co-Worker is a Chargers fan and he's been sending me these Melvin Gordon pics. I certainly hope he pans out like I think he will:

The Raiders will agree to anything; they have no money and no leverage. :D

Are you one of the fans who believes that KC v STL will become the BIGGEST rivalry EVER in the NFL? That the whole NFL nation from coast to coast will get excited and drool over it?

I can't comment on Portland/Seattle as before I started following the Hawks, I kinda thought they were the same place and always got them confused. I got it now.

There might be a bit I think - but, it's more like two cousins from familes who grew up in different countries and have entirely different cultures.

Don't think there's much of a rivalry between LA and SD.

Now LA and SF.....tons.

There is no rivalry between St. Louis and Kansas City in football. Nor is there a rivalry that meets your "whole NFL nation from coast to coast will get excited and drool over it?" criteria either. It's all divisional in the NFL and has been for a long time. There are fleeting playoff rivalries between divisions but parity has dampened that as well. Packers/Seahawks, Patriots/Colts are as close as it gets today but that doesn't mean the interest is universal. Too little history there and 28 other fanbases.

Rex. I am direct parroting STL posters regarding the super important maybe best EVER rivalry that will develop when Rams stay in STL and move to the AFC W and KC is the new amazing MO division rival that the whole world will care about.

I think it's funny.

If both the Rams and Chiefs were in the same division the rivalry would happen, bragging rights etc. It's why the Portland Seattle NBA rivalry was so hot up here.

I've never seen such posters, anywhere. Perhaps you're visiting a middle school geography club online? The Governor's Cup is as close to anything remotely in that vein and it has zero following. If a few pandemics are skipped perhaps in a few hundred years an east coast shit hole-ish megalopolis could develop between St. L and KC....but in lieu of that....an NFL rivalry? No.

You can look to the "rivalry" (in quotes because it really isn't) between the Cardinals/Royals in which it is far more so on the Cardinals side simply due to Don Denkinger and not 19 years of interleague play. Cardinals fans travel extremely well to see the games in KC simply due to the availability of tickets and the ability to see more Cardinals games in person. Now that both teams are the best in baseball it still isn't a rivalry. The media isn't the "decider" (Dubya!) of such things. Fans are. Cardinals fans know their rivals are the Cubs and more recently the Pirates or Reds. Rams fans know their rivals are the entire NFC West.

Between St. L and KC the real rivalry is BBQ which St. Louis wins easily. Pork > Beef and Flavorful sauce > Sweet sauce

I disagree. The Governor's Cup has zero following. Even the Chiefs poaching Vermeil didn't heat things up.

On second thought I suppose a rivalry could develop from a KC perspective but only in the manner of a little brother thinking they can play with the big boys. :3-1:

I like this design a lot for that city. San Diego has turned a lot cruddier and unappealing over the last ten years, and it'd be great to see something like this bring it at least a little bit back to the way it was. And the stadium itself is an interesting one. Besides the obvious Southern California style, I see some definite similarities to our own awesome stadium. This can only be good for them.

As far as any SD-LA rivalry goes, I've never seen much of one. There's some, and I suppose it's a bit like Seattle-Portland, but it's more laid back and populated by more sunbathers and surfers and Big Lebowskis who don't give a rip one way or another.

You are exchanging posts with one, right here on this board. He's not the only one though, there are a few threads about this topic, more than a few.

Rex: YOU telling ME you don't read Rams boards?

@Rex: Actually, Yes! That is what I would consider most STL Rams Fans boards right now.

ETA: I am going to take your so perfect description of STL posters and share it as I wish. Love it!!!! It DEFINES all STL Rams boards.

I didn't say it. YOU did.

That was different, you were not a direct competition and a viable team to take a position in the playoffs away from each other.
