How many times have we wondered why an Official didn't see something right in front of them or the phantom Flag, or the imbalanced flags against some teams. Throw in the momentum stopping flags with what seems like a 5 minute discussion afterwards. Our Super Bowl being a very big example with the whole Pittsburgh Fan base in Detroit and it being the Bettis Bowl.

Not sure what to make of this. Could just be nothing, like, "Hey, you'd better be autographing my cap after this game." But it does make you wonder because KD seemed to be looking directly at him.

Interestingly, the NFL may have slipped up and showed their hand last week... There is some smoke happening around the Detroit/KC game where it's been reported by the Lions Head Coach that the NFL broke their own rules by calling a flag (or telling the refs to throw a flag) based on video replay...

Its likely happening in the nfl too but it will never be exposed. Wonder when they go down the rabbit hole how far this will go and who else gets exposed?

The NFL has had it's games questioned going back to the Superbowl between the Colts and Jets,n many said there was no way the Jets could have won that without a fix in the game.

I'm feeling way too lazy to try and find years-old threads about the topic of steering games, but plenty of people around here over the years have told me I'm an idiot for thinking that once in a while, officials DO steer a little bit. They're not idiots, it can't be real obvious, but I do believe it happens.

Now who's the idiot?

The entire history of the human race is little more than proof of corruption and immoral behavior, all the way from small localized stuff to massive and pervasive multiple-country-spanning levels. Anybody who thinks that has recently changed or will change is a moron.

I will repeat this factoid again: The NFL is legally classified as SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. The supreme court ruled that the NFL and its teams are separate legal economic entities, which means the NFL can't directly steer outcomes, but what the **** do you think tends to happen if someone like Goodell walks over to the refs and just happens to say where they can hear, "Man, I really hope the Chiefs win this one" or some crap like that? Nothing actionably illegal about it, but if you think officials just ignore subtle cues like that, then grow the hell up and realize what the human race is already.

Rant over. Inbound idiots who will claim my statement is preposterous.

I agree. But are the players or at least some of the players in on it?

I'm not enough of a conspiracy theorist to think that the NFL is the little sister of the WWE. But I'm willing to acknowledge that the powers-that-be might well play a role in trying to keep their games as close and viewer interest friendly as possible in the name of the holy dollar. How far that goes, I can't say. But greed is a pretty strong motivating factor, and if there's one thing we know about the NFL ownership and its surrogates, the league office, they are as greedy as can be.

Yeah I haven’t really watched any NBA since the mid 90’s. I do follow the Zags because I live in Spokane but the NBA has gone by the wayside and lost its luster decades ago. This shit doesn’t really surprise me.

Not a big enough douche to be president... Thank God?
I can't say if this is true or not, but SAS strikes me as that kind of guy who doesn't treat and accord people he perceives as being below him with anywhere near the respect he does with people he perceives as being equal or above him in some way. He annoys the crap out of me when he kicks into his arse-kissing, phony pious humility gear when he's preening the feathers of a fellow member of the "in" club.

I used to have ESPN on early in the morn for background some time back when I did my stretching exercises for my back before work. It got to the point where I just couldn't listen or look at his act anymore. I takes a fair amount to get me to dislike someone in that way. He passed the test.
