Rams star Puka Nacua accuses refs of making up calls to get on TV: 'The worst'

"The refs are the worst," Nacua said during the livestream. "These guys want to be ... these guys are lawyers. They want to be on TV too. You don't think he's texting his friends in the group chat like, 'Yo, you guys just saw me on "Sunday Night Football." That wasn't P.I., but I called it.'"

Nacua’s Rams benefited from a controversial call in their 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Matthew Stafford connected with tight end Colby Parkinson on a 26-yard touchdown, but it appeared Parkinson was short of the end zone.

However, after replay review, the referees determined it was a touchdown. The score was a big one, as it gave the Rams a 27-24 lead in the third quarter, one they wouldn’t relinquish.

He is a hell of a player - but I'm not sure this was a wise move on his part.

Puka was also talking trash about our QB seeing ghosts.. like our fans can do that, fine. But a division rival throwing shade? That don't fly. Hopefully one of our DBs knock the shit outta this dude, Kam style.

In Australian football (and actually in Australia in general), trash talk is a VERY bad idea. There's karma, and the "Football Gods" to consider+++, even if you're NOT "superstitious." Players get called out severely by their own coach if they do so.

What I can not understand is why the only thing that will happen is he will get a fine that will be pocket change for an NFL player.

A post like this is somewhat similar to taunting on the field. the main differences are:
  • This is not a spur of the moment thing in the heat of "battle" this is something he deliberately decided t odo having had time to think about the implications
  • This is against referees rather than another player many sports penalise this more (for example in soccer)
  • My saying referees in general are all deliberately making incorrect decisions he is bringing the whole game into disrepute.
A player guilty of taunting is at risk of exclusion, I think posts such as this should result in a suspensiion of a game or 2 (more if it is not a first offence)
