I thought that this graphic would be interesting and add some gravity to our discussion about whether or not this was a "must" game for us.
The link below is a graphic of a matrix that NFL.com put together. It takes records from each point of the season, plotting wins on one axis, losses on the other. It's adjusted to take into account the 17 game season and the 14 team playoff format:

At 2-4 prior to last night's game, we had a 20% chance of winning. Had we won, that percentage would have bumped up to 29%, better but still classified as a long shot. After the loss, our chances slipped to 11%, not quite a snowball's chance in hell but getting close.
Bottom line is that with just an 11% chance of making the playoffs, let alone advancing if we were to qualify and with the November 2 trading deadline just a week away, it would make sense for us to start thinking about life after the 2021 season.
