After Clark was traded we figured to rely on Jaren Reed and the LB Crew to get pressure. Big signing of Ansah, the suspension of Reed, and the trade for Clowney seems to have filled our QB Sacking needs. Who will lead the team in sacks this season?

I was going to vote for J.Clowney but seeing how hes not on the list, I'll be holding back on my prediction. :snack:

Who is jD?

Only two player from our starting front seven made your list? I'm not sure who the rest are?

Ansah for me if he can stay healthy.. My reasoning is that the high profile capture of clowney, I think he will be extremely disruptive to opposing olines that they have to double team him allowing Ansah to start racking the sacks up :2thumbs:

If the Seahawks use Clowney as they should use him it will be him.

If they think he's an edge rusher it will be Ansah.

TBF what they're doing with Clowney on passing downs is one of the things I'll be paying most attention to, as PC isn't really known for his creativity in defensive scheming.

So for example, if it's third and long is he gonna let Clowney swap and rush from a two-point stance over a guard, or is he gonna try to always fit Clowney's round peg into his square hole and just have him on a wide 9 in a three point stance? If he just tries to sub Clowney into what Clark was asked to do I don't think that's gonna work and it's going to be a waste.

I actually think it's going to be Kendricks with 10+.

Now maybe Pete and Norton tweaked our scheme a little with Clowney, but we saw a LOT of Kendricks (and his backups) blitzing from the weakside in the pre-season.

So while I think both Clowney and Ansah are going to be effective, I don't think they're going to get enough snaps to compete with Kendricks for sacks. I put them both around 7-8 sacks each, and Kendricks with more from the WIL position on blitzes.

I agree with Kendricks getting double digits too .

After last years pre-season I would have said Rasheem Greene. I hope he comes on this year.

This post should be pinned imo. If you look at the film of Clowney on the other thread, you'll see what Popeye is talking about. He's very disruptive over the G. Very insightful post man. Considering PC played Bennett all over the d-line I'm hopeful he'll do the same with Clowney. Time will tell beginning tomorrow.
