Blocking

• As a rookie in 2023, he was ranked by Pro Football Focus (PFF) as the #1 non-offensive lineman run blocker in the entire league, earning a run-blocking grade of 89.4.
• In a notable Week 14 matchup against the 49ers, he was filmed blocking three defenders simultaneously to clear a path for the critical 3rd-and-17 conversion.
• Head coach Mike Macdonald has frequently cited Bobo’s "dirty work" and blocking as significant factors in Seattle’s rushing success, even in games where he didn't record a catch.

Receiving

• 0 credited drops his entire career as a hawk.
• Elite sideline awareness showed multiple times, including a toe-tap touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals where he stayed inbounds by a fraction of an inch while falling out of the end zone.
• Effective at "fending off" defenders in tight coverage, making one-handed grabs and high-point the ball over cornerbacks.

Did anyone besides Bobo battle a concussion, achilles and calf injuries last year?
Who caught a touchdown pass in the NFC Championship game with a broken hand?
Did anyone besides Bobo play in Super Bowl LX after breaking his hand two weeks before?

Bobo is extremely important! His clutch catches (HAND Catches) have been pivotal in winning games. When we desperately need a 1st down, or a Touchdown, he's available for Sam to throw to because they forget he's on the field.

The stats and info LeveeBreak posted are legitimate reasons for keeping him. Plus, in the locker room, he's a "glue guy" that the other players enjoy because nothing was handed to him, yet here he is, getting measured for a ring.

  I think one thing that tipped the scales in Bobo's favor is TE Elijah Arroyo being a bit of a hybrid WR, great route runner, hands, creates separation, good speed but needs to work on his pass blocking. So if Barner or Saubert ever misses time, Jake is the fill in blocker.
  
  Jake is part TE, Elijah is part WR.
  I think both are redzone threats.

I know this move surprises a lot of people but as I suspected it really comes down to being open to committing for two seasons. Bobos skill set is replaceable but we don’t have the capital to do it this year and the money isn’t enough to waste the capital on his replacement.

This will result in multiple UDFAs choosing Seattle over other teams after round 7. JS walks the walk on opportunity and competition. There are solid bule-collar players that can make a difference and Seattle will give them a shot, not just lip service. Developmental interior DL will have a path to make the team and play in 27.
