This whole ordeal happened before last season. Its only now getting coverage because of his court date. I think we need to let this one go guys.

I mean... I remember tate and the doughnuts when he first got here too and we didnt seem to want to hang him up so badly....
Tate's another guy that clearly doesn't care much for the game. What happened to players that loved the game, that lived for the game, that woke up each day FOR THE GAME?

Did they die out with the last of the crooners? I'm going to have to root for Tony Romo as at least his name rhymes with Perry Como, thats as close as we're going to get to someone who actually gives a rip about being a professional athlete.

Cool username by the why. I dig.

Thanks Cartire for the above. A voice of sober moderation and reasonableness, clearly unsuited for this board, death for Moffitt by bunga bunga or worse. The section of the local moral majority that is here calling in favour of Moffitt's ritual castration b/c he had a pee between some cars outside a pub. :thirishdrinkers: :177692: :141847_bnono:

If the complaint is about him being a football player who pee'd in a public place, then we'd hope they can think about when they had do so at some point in their past. This whole story is getting a whole lot more attention than it reasonably deserves and has become a tempest in a pee pot. I've read my last posts in this thread, it is a waste of bandwidth.

I don't give a turd about Moffitt peeing in public. Getting cited for it is even more ridiculous. As far as his play goes, we are talking about a two year guy drafted when? He is good enough to play on this line and many long runs happen when he is on the field.

I watched Dale Ellis do the same thing at Seafair in broad daylight on the log boom during the Hydros. At least 20 people saw him do it and there was no Internet to make it a story.

Moffitt is a goofball like Tobeck was and if he works at it, his play will improve too. If he isn't good enough on the field, he won't play, period.

To many people here want blood where none should occur. It's people like this that keep the media filled with these stupid stories. You guys react, they deliver.

Nobody pees in public unless they're drunk. Since this is a reoccurring theme, perhaps he's got a problem and needs treatment.
This is so often the problem, but people seem uneasy talking about it. It often hits too close to home.
Pro athletes are paid well to keep their bodies in top shape, (you can't when yer hungover).

I got nailed for peeing in public up at cor d alene 4th of july weekend awhile back. I actually really really had to piss. My bladder is weak sauce so I decided to go in a shrub in a back alley while we were walking home.. Unfortunately a bike cop saw me in the act and decided to give me a ticket. Next thing I know 5 cops showed up to watch the officer write me a urinating in public ticket. Embarrassing and annoying.

No moral of the story here other than dont piss in public... But who knows? maybe jon has an enlarged prostate or something and has to pee frequently?

I'm really hoping that Leee-roy actually is Leroy Hill. He's come back to troll .Net (and Moffitt) after the Hawks gave Cliff Avril his number. He has insider information that confirms John Moffitt is an alcoholic and that until he gives up the booze for good, like he did, he'll never fully reach his potential. Bestfightstory rejoices.

Back to reality though. I actually got a ticket ($50) in Brooklyn 3 or 4 years ago for urinating in public. It was around midnight and I was on a bus and couldn't hold it any longer so I got off about 7 or 8 stops before my stop and went around a corner and pissed on the side of a building. No harm, no foul... or so I thought. As I'm walking away and towards the next bus stop, a cop car pulls up alongside me and asks me to walk over to the car. They ask me if I know why they're stopping me. I was brutally honest with the guy and told him that I pissed on the side of the building and that I couldn't hold it anymore and really just had to go. I said "you know how it is when ya gotta go." He wasn't amused. Asks for my ID and then says thanks for being honest. I'm thinking he's about to be a cool person and let it slide. Not so much. He hands me my ID back, with a $50 ticket. You know what though? I didn't even really care about the ticket. I was just glad I got to take the piss!

I'm a fan of Moffitt and Sweezy's, so regardless of who starts I'll really be pulling for them. I think it'd be cool if Moffitt had a really strong year this year and evolved as a player into a more consistent player, which is what Tom Cable is probably looking for. I guess he figured last year that if there was going to be inconsistent play at the position, he might as well just let Sweezy learn the ropes the hard way, since he was younger and newer to the position thus being seen as having more potential as opposed to a guy that's been in the same system his entire career so far. Who knows? I'm looking forward to seeing who steps up.

Another awesome post. Your concept seems right on target for Tom Cable's thought process, as part of PC's whole approach. Moffitt's inconsistency (possibly partly due to injuries) opened the door to Sweezy earning some reps. I'm expecting the Moffitt/Sweezy competition/coopetition to take it to another level this year for both players. Moffitt was clearly the better option in pass protection this year, but I think you're on target, and now the Sweezy situation has Moffitt's FULL attention. I was thinking that Moffitt would be my adopt-a-veteran this year. I'm expecting him to have a really good season. It will be great having two solid options at that Guard spot.
