Have to give them credit, they let Darnold play, but they also turned up the run game so Sam had no pressure on him to win it, they built this up over the last three weeks.

Sam's confidence has to be good now, Monkey is off his back, now it's all new ground they walk, maybe the critics will shut up now.

Fat chance the critics shut up.

The new goal-post that is moved will be "Hurrr..hurr...let's see Sam win a playoff game..." now.

Happy Sam is the Hawks QB! Very Happy!!!

The Nellies will never stop the criticisms of Sam, but Sam has now had two consecutive 14 W regular seasons, which shows rare ability. Am excited to watch him potentially have a 3rd. This reality is mostly ignored along with the fact of his draft period which includes a good number of legit QBs Sam is the first to win a SB.

Slowly the dialogue will change but will always return if Sam has a bad game. Generally we all need to accept that is simply lazy reporting.

The Hawks now have a legit high quality starter. My belief is let’s talk about the true reality that in fact Sam is a damn good pivot. He plays for Seattle and not LA so the media hype will never be as strong as it is for Stafford, this will eventually change.

Necro'ing a thread.

Only at NET. 🙃
Well, we could pivot this thread to a 'Mike vs. Klint' subject... considering we'll face the Raiders on the road this season... just a thought.

It helped a bunch surrounding him with top tier talented guys like JSN and Cooper Kupp, their savvy and comradery is going to keep paying off in spades.
Continuity with the Offensive line is also going to help to grow Darnold's confidence, just need to beef up the Right Guard position, and who knows, Bradford seemed to be playing better down the stretch, no?

Sure. We could do that.

Though that's not the reason this thread was Necro'd, though (if you saw the post that brought it back).

It looked more like something that would've been posted in the Darnold thread (that was also Necro'd) than anything related to Mike vs. Klint.

Eh. Whatever.

If this thread is still around (and not buried 500 pages down), then by all means let's use it for that one game against the Raiders this coming season (and that's if we face them at all on our schedule).

200
I find Necro'd threads to be odd.

There is a feature of the board that makes this happen on the regular. There are a lot of "similar" thread ideas at the bottom of the screen, and if one doesn't look at the dates in the right hand column, one might think it is a current thread, when it is definitely not. I assume it will keep happening. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah. This is my issue as well.

I see a "DARNOLD!" thread and I'm like "WHAT HAPPENED??" only to see the first post be from months ago.

Sam made a huge change somewhere during the 3rd quarter of the season. He finally realized he could trust the rest of the team to win the game and didn’t have to play hero ball on his side of the team. There were enough good, effective players on offense that he just needed to get the ball where it needed to go, and let go of plays that would put the ball in too much of a compromise. We saw it clearly during the playoffs when this team had zero turnovers.
