Dart seems to be getting a lot of buzz lately. He looks solid, so why is he only projected to be a "mid round" selection? If John likes him, he better not wait around too long because I get the feeling he's going to get drafted sooner than most experts think.

I can't help but feel Dart is this year's Levis. And McCord is a statue in the pocket with limited arm strength, not sure he'd be a good fit here.
How do you figure he has limited arm strength? He slings it pretty dang good man. The only knock on him i have is that he stares down his first read, but that can be coached out.

Carson Beck would be great. Most mocks I've seen have him as day 2 or 3 pick.
I did like Beck but now that he has gotten injured i always worry. Not sure where he grades out and how he compares to the guys I like.

Beck actually does grade out well, he does have more INT's and a lower QB rating than Rourke.

Beck's draft profile on thedraftnetwork - https://thedraftnetwork.com/2024/06/21/carson-beck-scouting-report-nfl-draft#google_vignette
I've seen Beck make plenty of bone-headed decisions this season, he's lucky to be on a stacked team, if it wasn't for the team around him, they lose to Texas the first time & don't even play in the SEC championship. He went from looking like a first round pick last year, to looking near undraftable this year. I think he made an unwise decision to declare for the draft. He should've stayed one more year.

Dart rates right below Rourke. Be hard for me to get behind him as he played for Kiffen. Cant stand that guy.

If there's someone they think is an exceptional talent, sure, draft him, but I really hope that the middle rounds of the draft isn't the plan to find out next franchise QB. Those third round and later guys have a shockingly poor hit rate, like well under 5%. Depending on that would be reckless and a great way to make sure the entire front office and coaching staff is unemployed within the next three years.

And since I've expressed this opinion on here before and am aware of what comes next: don't waste your time replying with a list of three or four of the ones who did hit out of the several hundred drafted, thinking it's some drop the mic moment. Believe it or, I actually HAVE heard of Russell Wilson and Tom Brady.

But yeah, Slick Willie Howard. We should pick him.

I figured you might like him. I dont think Beck lasts until the 3rd or 4th round but Howard and Rourke may. Like i said they are projects and could hit if they sit behind a guy.

I was mostly kidding about Howard. Obviously, I like him right now, but he doesn't look like a tremendous NFL prospect to me. I'm guessing like 6th round for him.

I'm not against drafting a guy later on if we like him; I just don't want that to be THE plan to find our next starter. If we draft one, the thought should be that they'll probably be a backup, and if something clicks for them, awesome.

I actually do like Dart. His production is a bit misleading if you look at who most of it was coming against though. I know it's like that with everyone to an extent, but it's extreme with him.

Rourke's college career stats are impressive,
yards = 10,708
comp/att = 892/1285
% = 67.1
td/int = 79/5 29/0 this year in the Big Ten
sacks = 14

Thats five years in college.
