And it has been made known that whistle or not, it's irrelevant.If I'm being completely honest, I can see why someone would say that shouldn't be a TD in the spirit of the game, it was basically a fluke 2pt. But a head coach should be the last one to bitch about it, he should fall on the grenade and say it's his job to make sure his players know to always follow the ball.
Yeah if Charbs dove on that like he probably would have if he knew it was live it would be harder to complain about but his body language seemed to say he didn’t know it was live. But I have seen players jump on and try to return balls that were much more dead than that.The rule has existed forever. The only problem with the play is how the players didn't realize what happened because the ball happened to bounce forward. Still, no excuse for the Ram player who had the first chance at the ball to not jump on it. Also, Charbs should have been more purposeful in going for the ball.
