Sometimes I don't understand the elite athlete mentality (which is probably one of many reasons that I'm not an elite athlete :p ). If I were set for life financially, and had at least one ring, I can't imagine what would keep me playing at all, especially if I had a highly increased risk (beyond just the normal NFL risk) of life impacting injury.
Probably the same thing that keeps me motorcycling after 2 broken helmets, 3 totaled bikes, many broken bones, 6 corrective surgeries, and permanent handicapped parking. I just can't see myself not motorcycling. I imagine Stafford just can't see himself not footballing. (We're kind of stupid that way...)

We have an orthopedic surgeon in the family. Dude was a Ducati riding and racing kid through college and medical school. A couple of weeks into residency, Ducati was gone; it had been sold after daily and nightly surgeries on bikers, and all the other tasks surgeons had to perform on them.

Just saying.

Good thing I'm not an orthopedic surgeon, but just a nuclear engineer then! ;)
I hang out with a bunch of cruiser guys, mostly Harley, and go on tour with them. LOL, I was always the designated pickup or van driver and did the what we called heavy lifting lmao.
