Was Matt our best QB ever to play for the Hawks. I was watching youtube and stumbled upon this video. Man how football has changed. There was some vicious hitting going on.

Even back 20 years every snap almost you cringed and hoped your QB didn't snap something up. Today the QB is protected with NBA rules. It definitely changed the game. I get it though less QB injuries but still. The back up QB position is less useful now.

Throw out the performance and hero ball, put in what a QB means to the team and his role. Hass was head and shoulders above everyone, Kreig and Zorn 2nd and third, Kitna fourth, Wilson was not a leader, team guy, or person the team could relate too by his choice, not the rest of the team. Not what you want for the guy in charge of running your offense.

I get why the league does it though. If your starting QB goes out you lose that market for the rest of the season as they lose interest amd it generslly means the season is done. Potentially 10s of million of viewers depending on the market

Probably my favorite seahawks QB, but definitely not the best seahawks qb. Possibly number 2.
Agreed.

Hasselbeck is my favorite Seahawks QB (and my favorite overall Seahawk) ever, but I think you have to give 'best' to Wilson.

That said, 2005 was the closest the Seahawks have ever come to being the best offense in the NFL (only outdone by Manning's Colts and basically neck-and-neck with Carson Palmer's Bengals). That was also the season where a Seahawks QB came closest to having the best regular season QB performance as well. (He was bested by Manning and Palmer here, too.)

So, Matt's got that going for him.

Man these days there would be flags on almost every single one of those plays. That hit on Shaun Alexander was brutal. The game has certainly changed and not for the better. I'm all for player safety but nobody wants to watch flag fests which it seems like every game is now.
