No, he isn't that bad, but the Raider O-line is awful and they have no receivers or TE.

That's what I am thinking but it's so fun watching the mighty fall (Oakland, Pittsburgh, Dallas) And be on the ground floor of the New.Wave (Washington, Indianapolis, Seattle) while watching the bridesmaids run really fast (Green Bay, Baltimore, San Francisco, Cincinnati and Denver) . Though Buffalo and Miami make my ears twitch.

Wanna play a fun game? Go to the comments of this Raider game thread and do search for the term "Flynn" and cycle though the comments. YIKES!

http://www.silverandblackpride.com/2013 ... pen-thread

And no, I don't think Flynn is terrible. He'd be a fine back up for a team with a good offense. But he's not a great starter capable of bringing up the play of the players around him. He's average to ok. And that's only if you got good players around him and an offense that allows him to play his safe, short timing route game. That's why I wasn't thrilled with the prospect of him being our guy. And why the second I saw what RW was capable, I had seen enough.

So relieved things worked out the way they did for us. The KC preseason game last year may have drastically altered the course of this franchise.

Flynn getting a following here said more about us than it did about Flynn. He just wasn't a very remarkable prospect. Nice, boring, not remarkable. The kind of woman you date once you're into your 30's and realize you should find a merely decent woman who won't draw competition from all the men around you, instead of constantly looking for the Angelina Jolie that all the other guys somehow missed.

Flynn could have had a good year if he had gone to a team that had most of its pieces already in place and was just looking for a solid quarterback. But he's not good enough to put a team as bad as Oakland on his shoulders and carry them to victory. I feel badly for the guy, and he is far from being the Raiders' only problem, but he is going to have a rough year.

Flynn played a terrible game yesterday, and it wasn't entirely the fault of his O-line or his lack weapons. He missed receivers badly on his INTs and couldn't recognize pressure on the sacks he took. He can't keep the D honest because he can't go deep. Everyone who is saying "he'd be good on a good team" should seriously check out the tape. All of Oakland is calling for Pryor to start right now.

Are we sure he's even better than Tarvaris?

Flynn is doing badly but a lot of Oakland fans wanted Pryor starting before he even got there.

I'm not so sure. The only thing I'd say he has over TJack at this time is he's probably a safer player. And that's mainly because he is captain check down. Something I found funny seeing Raider fans calling him. That was what I was saying last preseason.

That O line is really in bad shape he is taking some wicked hits. I feel sorry for the guy, I don't see him or anyone not missing games due to injury this year just a bad team

So, if the Raiders are that bad, and we're conceding that they have no line or receivers, why am I the only one concerned with the Cardinals? Carson Palmer threw for 4,000 yards with that team last year. He did that with no line, no WR's, McFadden in and out of the line-up, etc.

I'm telling you...Carson Palmer on the Cardinals is going to be a problem. Not a threat for the division, but laughing off "he's Carson Palmer" isn't too bright.

Cuz Palmer was trash with the Bengals too towards the end of his time there. He simply doesn't worry me one bit.

Flynn is not a very good quarterback.

He's not awful. But he's not good enough to start.

And if Oakland has any sense they'll see what they have with Pryor this year. Might as well know before they take Clowney with the #1 pick.

That's some deep stuff.

I am concerned about Palmer.

I can't talk about Flynn and say anything new.

Nah, never "settle", you're doing it wrong... make your "Angelina Jolie" look for you.

In the right situation Flynn could probably start for a team in this league, wouldn't be any long term solution though even then. Oakland is terrible and not getting any better any time soon. It's not gonna turn out well for Flynn there. I think at this point he's just working the system for as much as he an get out of it until he gets figured out and settles into a long term backup roll. He's made some good money not playing football.
