Dude brought it today. Not that he doesn't always. But he really helped set the tone with his physical runs early on.

I feel really bad for all of the Seattle rb's that will follow in #24's footsteps in the future. There's going to be A LOT of Seattle fans out there forever judging rb's and their physicality against this guy. Something that won't be fair in the slightest. I hope people realize just how special and not the norm what we see week to week with Lynch is.

Kinda like how we compare all LTs to Big Walt.

Man if the Lynch of today could run left behind the Big Walt and Hutchitraitor of the '06 season Hass never would've had to throw a pass.

I think he is the key to the offense. If the threat of Lynch is there, those play action passes really freeze the defense, giving our lackluster line a boost, and giving Wilson the time to do what he do. And our receivers a chance to do what they do.

This was the kind of offensive day we had at the end of last year. Loved it.

That play in the picture was really awesome. What a freak. He's climbing up the list of my favorite RB's I have ever watched play this game.

Turbin suffers from this already. He's actually a pretty damned good back, but next to Lynch he looks like a sissy. I'd still rate him one of the top backup RBs in the league yet he gets hated on because he's not Beast enough.

Beast might be the most entertaining back I've watched run since Barry Sanders. Barry made you miss and look silly. Beast can make you miss or just overpower you, and look silly.

I remember when Lynch went on the trade block back in the spring of 2010, and wondering if he was worth the 2nd round pick Buffalo was seeking. After looking into his tape and numbers then factoring the depreciation of the RB position, I came away feeling that it was a really tough call.

The Marshawn Lynch of 2009-2010 is nothing like the Marshawn Lynch we see today. Smarter, lighter on his feet, better balance, quicker, better vision, some home run threat. I think what impresses me the most about Lynch is that he never mailed it in even after being a miserable performer for his first year and a half in Seattle (3.5 YPC). He kept working to get better, he learned the blocking scheme as well as he could, he lost weight while maintaining strength. Even if the guy really is a thug, he's got a heart of gold, and that heart for the game is the reason he is where he is today. Like our QB, he's a great story of a guy with some talent enduring hardship and using sheer will to grow and reach greatness.

The last RB we had like this (in terms of impact) was Shaun Alexander in 2005, especially inside the 10-yard line. Shaun had a real nose for the end zone; once we got inside the 10, we'd just hand it to Shaun. Twice, at most. I remember watching games thinking, "Oh, we're inside the 10. TD."

We should keep acquiring running backs named Shaun or [Mar]Shawn.

Oh, I have. He's my fav hawk. He exemplifies smash-mouth toughness football, so necessary to round out this team. It's not only about yards, a player like this wears down defenses within a half of play when used properly regardless of yardage. That goes a long way.

The beast is for real

Everyone is raving about Beast's performance.

Nfl g lynch 576x324

He's the main reason we won.
Really? Dang....I guess that crazy Tate catch in the back of the EZ, the Kearse TD, the big Baldwin chain-moving catch, all had nothing to so with it. Uh, ok.

Yeah, this post rocks. The WR's did it all by themselves. Not like the Beast helped free them up at all.

The Beast will always have a spot in my heart. I remember when he first got here. No offensive line, no passing game to take the pressure off him. He got hit repeatedly in the backfield and pin-balled his way to scratch and scrape for any yardage he could. He never complained about the lack of support over the entire 16 game season of disappointment. He never called out any teammates. He just went out every game and every play and gave his all.

Yeah, he set the tone then and he continues to set the tone for the team. He deserves any props given him.

Not since Barry Sanders has a RB been so fun to watch. Totally different styles, but equally impossible to keep your eyes off, or be in awe of their talent.

I imagine when Lynch was a kid the other players on his team in practice would say stuff like "dude, this is just practice, ease up before you hurt somebody." But that's the beauty of how Lynch runs, it's NOT just a game, it's NOT just practice, it's NOT just a job.............to him it's a cleansing of anger, hate, all the people who doubted him, and all the people who count on him all in one six second burst of aggression....and holy crap is it beautiful to watch.

I called Beast the MVP before the game, and there were several, but to see Him bowling people over, continuously churning and stiffarming, well, it was a true thing of beauty, and #24 is the MVP of this game imo.
