From here on out, I think success will depend on several things:

1. Can the starting pitchers get healthy, and can Hancock and Evans hold down the fort until they do? Can Bryan Woo be this great the whole season? Hancock seems to be improving and Evans has been pretty good so far. It will be up to Wilson to manage the workload the rest of the way to avoid further injuries to the starters.

2. Can the hitting continue? They are currently 4th in the AL in runs per game, and if they can continue that, it will go a long way towards succeeding. Specifically, can JP Crawford and Dylan Moore continue to hit like they are? And will Julio finally pull himself out of his early season slump? JP has done it before, so I'm more confident that he's returned to his 2023 form. Dylan Moore has flashed in the past, but always reverts to flirting with the Mendoza line, so we can't expect him to be as good as he's been lately. (And is Cal really going to break the record for number of HRs by a catcher in a season?)

3. Are there any better answers at 3B and RF besides Ben Williamson and Leody Taveras? After a promising start, Williamson seems to have cratered. Both Williamson and Taveras are near the absolute bottom of the league in OPS, with Williamson at .554 and Taveras at .548. I suppose we're going to have to wait until Luke Raley gets back in mid-June.

710 ESPN said this morning that they expect Kirby back for the CHEATstros series. Huge.
Very good points on Hancock and Evans. Love seeing a player take advantage of an opportunity. Williamson will ultimately save a lot of runs with his defense, imo. Need to leave him there and let him do what rookies do, fight thru the struggles of being a rook at the plate.

4. What Jerry does. Will he make another gut wrenching move at the deadline

Nice to see Castillo do 6+. Starting to regain his pietro status.

Taylor still having trouble finding the strike zone with quality strikes. Almost blew that one. Wilson is trying to give him opportunities in low stress situations. Not handling it well so far.

Offense not getting to Martin at all, but got to their bullpen. Maybe we could trade Taylor to them.

Nice little win streak going. Win tomorrow and we gurantee at least .500 on this road trip.

I was watching the pitchfx and it really looks like he was jobbed by the ump on the first batter.

Umps have been next level bad this year. It can't just be me that notices it. Glad to hear others are seeing it. It's ridiculous how bad they are.

I hate watching the game when I know the score but I missed it today doing some tile, but here it is the 7th inning and it’s still 1-0, yet I know the final score so I’m actually getting excited to see how this goes down, plus what’s all the complaining about Taylor in a 1 run outing?
