Its super early. I know..

If the Ms keep this pace, i see a big trade for a big bat happening. I am not sure who yet but i do feel like the all in will happen. If they are in 1st Place come the deadline.

who needs Alonso when you have Tyler Locklear?

Alonso: BA: .232 OPS: .771
Locklear: BA: .222 OPS: .757
France: BA: .251 OPS: .732

It's a prediction thread though. I can't see them standing pat. But then again......this IS the Seattle Mariners, and that's their jam.

I like Locklear, but maybe pump the breaks on thinking he's better than Alonso. That guy will still produce and put up some HR's.

Locklear is still pretty young to base our playoffs hopes on. Alonso might cost too much, even as a rental. Robert would probably be cheaper, because of his injury history, which also makes him a bigger risk.

Robert is one hell of a player. But man, that injury history is way too much to ignore. Suck for him, seems like a good kid.

Said it in the Cleveland thread but i'm worried if this continues they decide not to push the boat and determine they are good enough or bring in someone meh. They didn't make any huge moves in the off season or last year. In fact they pleaded poverty in the off season.

My prediction is relief pitching its always a sought after commodity for teams with playoff aspirations. Oakland usually has a few they wouldn’t mind off loading for a prospect or 2

I think we get a Pen guy for sure. I think we also grab a big bat. I think they see the shift in powers in the AL West.

I can't see Brash coming back this year. I heard Santos is making good progress. Sucks that he went down, he's a hell of a reliever.

If there was a way to get Sewald and a good bat in trade with Arizona, I hope they jump on it.

After watching Bazardo, a closer is our biggest need! Sewald would be nice.

On a related note, I'm loving Canzone and Rojas.

I don't see an available bat that would be a big upgrade over what we have. Not only is Locklear batting well, he has made some fantastic defensive plays, as has Luke.
