That's an absolutely brutal, devastating, heartbreaking loss.

They were 6 games over .500 just 3 days ago. It's looking more and more likely that they'll be exactly a .500 team at the break.

That sucks. Our best pitchers dropped the ball. Couldn't hold them back.

Off to Detroit. Another tough series.

Of all the guys we could be criticizing right now, it seems bizarre that Cal is the focus. He had fractions of a second to catch the ball, turn around, and lunge at a very fast runner that did a great job avoiding the tag.

The way things were going in the 8th, 9th, and 10th, even if Cal had managed to make the tag the Yankees next hitter probably would've just won it anyways.

This one's on our best relievers. Brash, Munoz, and Speir all blew it. All 3 of them sucked tonight, and those 3 guys are the reason we lost a game we very much should have won.

Both things can be true at the same time. He isn't nibble on tags. Just the way it is. He isn't perfect no matter how many home runs he hits.

Was it challenged? I read he tagged him before he touched home plate but Dan didn't challenge.
Either way I would still pull off a massive trade. Any pitcher on the table except Woo. Any player on the table except Cal., yes even Julio.

No one said he's perfect. That's just goofy. Our best relievers basically had a meltdown. If you want to blame Cal for the loss because he wasn't able to get the guy at home, go for it. It never should've come even close to needing Cal to make that play just to not lose. The only reason it did is because our 3 best relievers all blew it.

This was ticking me off as it happened. I wanted Munoz to drill a guy just for this. Every runner on 2B was doing it.
