His frame looks like he could easily handle some additional lbs. Should start hanging out with DJ Fluker and his trainer
320 is plenty big for an RT. he is already a road grader and can set an anchor. He is really light on his feet with his 4.9 40, what you don't want is to make his feet slower.

Abraham Lucas is from my "hometown" Everett, Wa, so I have been hoping for him to have a successful career.
He has been playing at a high level here in Washington State for a long time. This can take a toll on the body and sometimes that "toll" is "inflammation" in an otherwise healthy joint. There is a condition called "Bursitis" that can come from chronic (extended time) "over use" of a joint (I am just guessing about this). I have not read about him having any serious "structural" knee problems.
So, maybe the surgery, physical rest and time off that his body has received will have helped him to heal.
Even if he is a little bit "broken"...he is still a powerful player.

Adding weight adds stress to the knees.

He’s a beast at whatever weight he WAS playing at, I don’t agree that adding weight is in his (or our) best interests.

Cross might benefit from more muscle, he's the one with problem setting an anchor.

I was hoping this was trending positive but after reading this I'm not so sure anymore.

But given Lucas’ status and Macdonald’s comments, what’s the level of concern about his health going forward? “The closer it gets to the preseason, the higher it gets,” former NFL wide receiver Michael Bumpus said Thursday during Seattle Sports’ Bump and Stacy. “I think last week, last month, I felt better about it, but obviously he ain’t right.”

He's working hard, but the chances are increasingly dismal that he'll go on to have a normal career at this rate.

I am extremely happy that we have George Fant to help get us through. RT will need to be a priority in the draft (barring miraculous development from one of our rooks, like Jarrell)

Sadly I do not have a good feeling about Abe's situation AT ALL. The fact that it is almost August and he has yet to sniff any kind of practicing, reps or drills...Not good. Perhaps more than the LB and interior OL question marks, I find the Abe situation to be my biggest bummer so far heading into the 2024 season.

The article did he say he was running at full speed so he is getting some work in, just not enough to show he's near where he needs to be.
