Sounds like he doesn’t need the knee brace anymore and is dead lifting. It’d be great to get him back in a healthy state.

Would be best if he can come back in training camp. After an injury, it often takes a player a while before they fully trust that they can go full out on the recovered leg. Best to get that in camp, not in season.

Agreed. That's the target.

This is good news!

I sure hope this player can return to his early ability and there isn’t a need for the team to use a backup in his RT spot. Thankfully though the team has finally the appearance of some depth on the OLine and if the young players at the interior spots prove able the OLine might take a big step forward this season.

Skeptical me is skeptical. Missing most of a season with a nagging knee injury has never been good when it comes to Seahawk linemen. I hope he's good to go though.

That's how I feel. "Lingering knee issues" and "setbacks" are two things that you often read about with lineman. I'm truly holding out hope...but starting to look at him playing as a bonus and not the expectation. Fingers crossed, though. He was on a trajectory to be a star.

I thought he was playing better than Cross prior to his injury. The question is how close he’ll ever get back to that level.
Not sure if it was technique or strength, but Lucas often stopped his opponent after contact, Cross got pushed back directly towards Geno after contact, or more precisely after Cross landed his hands on his opponents.

Good thing is a Tackle doesn't really have to worry about his 40 time or his ability to cut, just strength and leverage of the joint, If I were him I would continue to wear some kind of brace or support while playing.
I think all the lineman should wear knee braces. Michigan implemented a mandatory knee brace policy after Grant Newsome almost lost his leg from a gruesome knee injury a few years back vs. Wisconsin. Better safe than sorry for these guys. As you say, they don't need to cut, so why not.

I had what's called a bucket tear on my left knee and it is like making a horizontal cut across your meniscus and popped in and out very painfully i might add and took two full years before i trusted it again
@ years later i had a meniscus tear on my other knee that only took 8 weeks to feel great again and 2 or 3 months before I completely trusted it so he has had the worst case 2 year deal almost now and just like everyone I'm hoping he is healthy and comes out and regains full health and strength
Total monster and that big leap forward with decent depth might be the first time since around 05 since we've had that
Go Hawks

I've dislocated my left knee 2x...basketball and racqetball. Knee cap slid to the left side of the joint and when I straightened my leg it popped back in place. 1st time I assumed I snapped a ligiment because of that pop. Tore the upper and lower parts of the meniscus attaching to the muscles on each side.

I don't participate in court sports anymore...there's a "defect" when strain is on the knee in a back/lateral movement and its in a bent position, the cap is prone to dislocate.

I still don't trust my knees. I play golf now and wear a brace for that. Good decision not to become an NFL O-Lineman.

Hmm we’ll see how the knee holds up under the season.

I agree with who ever said he should still wear a brace. Knee injurys are tough to recover from in football.
