Tonight was the best linebacker play I've seen from the Seahawks in quite awhile. Props to Malcolm Smith, Bruce Irvin and KJ Wright. I love me some Bobby Wagner but he's got some work to do to get back on the field, imo.

Yes! Liked Smith last pre season. Reminded me of Chad Brown. In the sense that Chad always seemed to be involved in every single play. I will take it!

I agree J, I noticed them throughout the game but for good reasons.

Bruce found his spot.

YES, the Dline was also really good. The defense was suffocating. The whole team minus the Oline was great

Smith is definitely in the mix for a starting spot. And with KJ doing well in the middle, we have the elements in place for a more standard 3-4.

:th2thumbs: Linebackers had an excellent game! As did the entire D. The O spotted Ariz 13-16 points thru TO's and questionable decesions on 4th and 1....... 6-1 I'll take it!

The whole D did such an awesome job tonight. Can't wait to see them smoke Bradford.

Love what I saw from the LBers tonight, especially Malcom, but KJ still has a tough time covering TEs. And I don't think BObby has to worry about losing his starting spot.

Bruce was a Renaissance Man tonight. I was seeing him all over the field, making plays here and there. Dude's speed is amazing and he actually has coverage skills to boot.

I think some people forget that Bruce was actually a safety before he went to WVU, so he does have some ability to cover people.

Wyman said this week that he thinks Malcolm is playing the best of the entire LB corps right now.

Irvin had a good game after being invisible last week.

Malcolm Smith is everything I thought he would be and more.

I'll throw in there that the front 4 got some great pressure up the middle, too. Compared to last year when all we had was Clemons and blitzes to try to pick up pressure, that's awesome.

I think its more about that Malcom plays KJ's normal side better then KJ, but KJ plays malcoms side WAY better then malcom. so when you only run 2 lb's kj can switch sides and malcom don't as well. just my initial thoughts I have nothing to back it up yet.

They were absolutely fantastic tonight, especially Malcom Smith. Not sure how they will shuffle everyone when Bobby comes back. Good problem to have

I like how Bruce tackles at the LB position. Just going by the "eye test" and not rewatching the game, it seems like he goes from being a sort of negative against the run at DE to a positive as a big, fast LB. I really like the switch so far, because he can always go up as a rush end in passing situations.

There was a play where Bruce covered Ellington and the announcer was talking about if the ball had not been thrown quite as far the RB would have had it for a TD, but the thing is the QB has to get it over Bruce's arms so #51 doesn't make a play. I think it's exciting to see how much he improves at that spot.

Irvin progress from an uncoached one move DE at WVU to a very respectable three tool linebacker is nothing short of remarkable. To do it in one offseason is stunning.
