Interesting that Outten is still listed as the Run Game Specialist.
I wonder who of the four in-house gets the NOD for OC?
I trust you Gem. I'm ecstatic nowZach Orr hiring was huge…surprised more aren’t ecstatic about this.
We will eventually transition to a normal set-up where MM isn’t having to call the D plays. He’ll obviously still design, advise, etc…
But between AD and Orr, we’re in great hands.
It shows a lot of wisdom on Orr’s end.I trust you Gem. I'm ecstatic now
What I like about the last 2 hires (Orr & Stern) is I think Macdonald likes smart people but also young/innovative coaches. Why that's important is when you have long term success, your coordinators are going to be in demand.Zach Orr hiring was huge…surprised more aren’t ecstatic about this.

Mannnm…spot on! I don’t think it was PC not being a great coach. That dude could motivate a dead man to get up and run. What I like about the last 2 hires (Orr & Stern) is I think Macdonald likes smart people but also young/innovative coaches. Stern is very young but is on a fast track on the offensive side.
Orr has already been an D.C so he is a potential in-house replacement in the near future.
**This is something Pete Carroll stopped doing after the Super Bowls. He just ran out of young and hungry coaches. He just rolled with his old crew.

100% think it was staff related. That hunger…that desire to climb.
MM is one smart dude…have Hawks fans ever felt this content about a staff? I mean, there were ‘grumblings’ about Kubiak early on. Dude gave me several cardiac events during the season. MM clamped down…we rolled.
Complete confidence in our coach and FO. That’s pretty damn incredible.
I don't know anything about him but I trust your enthusiasm! I need to do a little bit of research on some of these names.Zach Orr hiring was huge…surprised more aren’t ecstatic about this.

I definitely feel it. I can understand what people mean by " the tough part is repeating". Keeping everyone happy etcIt shows a lot of wisdom on Orr’s end.
He could’ve took a DC spot or at a minimum, signed for the same position for the Cowboys.
He’s young. He knows AD is in front right now. But, he’s part of what’s becoming the Mike Macdonald Tree.
When/if we ever lose AD, guaranteed that Orr steps right in.
I’ve never thought that teams that won the Super Bowl could be even better the next year…maybe KC. I sorta/kinda felt that with the 2015 Hawks.
Definitely have that feeling with the Hawks now. Maybe not necessarily in wins/losses but as for being dominant and running it back to back? For sure.
There were a lot of ‘firsts’ last year. Sam…first year as our QB. JSN first year as #1. Coops first year…key starters (particularly, Zabel and one of the best defenders in the league, Emmanwori) first year…
MM solidifying the staff is simply icing on the cake.
@MORGULON a dynasty is forming bro…I’ve flip-flopped between being an Eeyore to pure homerism.
This is very real. What an exciting time for Seattle!
I want Mac to call his D plays; It got us the best D and a SB in onlyZach Orr hiring was huge…surprised more aren’t ecstatic about this.

I’m with you Indy. I think it’ll be that way for some time.I want Mac to call his D plays; It got us the best D and a SB in only
his second year.
Screw messing with what works, that's Pete BS.
I admit there could be positive angles to this that I'm not seeing yet,I’m with you Indy. I think it’ll be that way for some time.
But, it’s not hard to imagine these assistants taking over responsibilities as they continue to gain MMs trust.
It could have a very positive effect. MM having more time to process both sides of the ball may be advantageous.
I’m not saying he doesn’t do that now. Just saying given more time and a very strong support staff…ooohhhwheee.
Orr could’ve had a DC job. Yet, he chose to be with MM again. Very, very wise. He’s young. Learn from the best. Be prepared when the time comes.
Or, MM may never relinquish those duties. As far as we know, he may have already made that clear.
EITHER way…we’re in great hands!!!
