If Kubiak gets a HC position, it won't be in the NFC West - way too stacked for a 1st year HC who isn't really ready. I would also be stunned if Harbaugh went to Atlanta. I would also be surprised if a college coach wasn't hired by one of these teams.
I don't know that Kubiak is an established coordinator, let alone HC material. He's been with a different team each of the last five years with asterisks on each of those performances. And even this year, while having good DVOA numbers, he's not been good in the red zone. Our kicker led the league in points with 171 out of our 8th ranked 483.

I equate most of his success to TOP granted by our elite defense. If someone does hire him away as a HC, I pity them. As for our loss, meh. We won a SB with Darrell Bevell...

I'll be much more upset if Atlanta hires Durde.

So it Kubiak goes, who might be available to replace him at OC that would be decent?
His brother maybe. Now that we have an offensive identity (basically anyone that has been in or knows the Shanahan system) we should be okay vs whatever weird thing Grubb did.

Miami should have done whatever they had to do to get Harbaugh. The Dolphins are soft, IMO and he would have changed it fast. I also would have liked him to stay in the AFC. At least he didnt go to Arizona !

The Browns saga is getting hilarious. McDaniel and Minter cancelled interviews with them (the former passing for an OC job) and now Chris Shula turned down their interview request entirely. Agents are bashing them anonymously. Theyre going to end up with Ryan Grubb at this rate.

Good, Raiders are doing second interviews so mabybe they are dialing it in, Cardinals have been pretty quiet, Browns are dialing in on Schwartz it seems.

I hope Cards are not waiting, it's not a great place to land givin the Bidwells meddling and trends of incompetence, they do have nice facilities however.

Thinking more about Kubiak...the guy is the OC for the best team going into the SuperBowl, so he's really good, just based on that. But as an armchair football expert :) I questioned the latter part of the 1st half, right up to the touchdown drive. Last night I re-watched the replay of the game, and I gotta say - from my nosebleed seats Sunday, I wasn't seeing everything. He did a helluva job. He's improved throughout this year, and he might go into next year as the premiere OC in the league. I'm just happy that now, only the Cards, Raiders and Browns need head coaches. So I think we're safe.

It sounds like they might have a Jim Zorn situation going where the owner is demanding a certain coordinator. Could easily end up like that job and Jim Schwartz just gets promoted.

Apparently, the Browns all have a bunch of weird stuff with their interview, like an exam with an essay portion. I guess beggars CAN be choosers.

I thought Jim Zorn would be a good coach...but he had shit to work with. And the redskins sucked so bad that he lost that chance.
