McDaniel has been fired in Miami.

25% of the league is looking for a new head coach. The pool of candidates isn't the greatest either. Kubiak went from seeming like a longshot to get one of these jobs to probably the second best candidate behind Harbaugh.

I hear you but I think Kubiak is a season or two away from being ready . I base this on the fact that although he's been in the league awhile, he hasn't been the offense coordinator in one spot more than one season . But hey , they never ask my opinion.

Harbaugh will have his choice of where to go. I think that eliminates a couple rosters right out of the gate.

So it Kubiak goes, who might be available to replace him at OC that would be decent?
SeasideJoe did a good article on defensive headcoaches losing OC's and it not mattering nearly as much as we all think it does. Calmed me down a little bit lol

Long as stadium name rights never gets bought by McDonald's, I think I'd be OK with math teacher McDaniel as OC, though I never would have dreamed anyone would even be talking about it prior to today.

Writing was on the wall for him to be fired. He's pretty respected as a coordinator around the league though. Plenty of guys have been great as a coordinator but not as a HC. He would be a damn good replacement at OC if Kubiak leaves, imo.

Talk is Miami for Harbaugh, since he gets to pick the GM. But he hasn't agreed yet, so is he waiting for Buffalo or Green Bay to lose and perhaps fire their head coach?

Just think of all the confusion and name butchering we can look forward to....

"Mike called a great game!"

"Which one?"

"MM"

"Which MM?"

"McDonald! But I think Macdaniel called a good game too!"
The thing about McDaniel is that he is from the University of Shanahan

Dan Graziano at ESPN just made some of the worst predictions about who was going to be hired for each of the eight coaching vacancies:

I guess his theory is that the Cardinals won't be able to get a decent, experienced coach to go to Arizona. I just don't see Harbaugh deciding to take the Falcons' job with Penix as his QB. I don't know if Saleh would be Tom Brady's first choice in Las Vegas. And I don't think Mike McDaniel or Matt Nagy is going to get another HC job right now. I could see Stefanski going to the Ravens and Shula with the Dolphins.

If Kubiak gets a HC position, it won't be in the NFC West - way too stacked for a 1st year HC who isn't really ready. I would also be stunned if Harbaugh went to Atlanta. I would also be surprised if a college coach wasn't hired by one of these teams.

Interesting. I have little idea at all where anyone is going to finally end up. I think if you're an experienced and desired coach like Harbaugh you don't want to go to a dysfunctional franchise like the Browns or Cardinals. It's not talked about enough the part bad ownership can play in the fortunes of the team on the field. With some of these teams it's the ownership that needed to be fired more than anyone else.
