Is Myers really the answer? There’s some kickers FA that are much cheaper and reliable

I couldn't believe we didn't even bring in a UDFA to compete after how volatile the Jason Myers experience was last season. We let the Rams sign Cameron Dicker, who could have been a nice duo with Dickson.

Need to compete, right? Bring in someone and let the best dude win it. Meyers is the second coming of the Blair Witch project.

It's a certainty that Myers will cost the Seahawks a game or two. He cost them the Saints and Bears games last season. He had one career year for the Jets and found his way to a bigger contract. Unfortunately at the Seahawks' expense.

To be fair, he was tremendous two years ago. Last season should have meant he's not going to simply be given the job though.

We might be in the hunt for wild card with if we won those two, and the INT on Lockett that we didn't get in the Rams game. At 10-7, we would have felt at lot better about our team.

I wonder if CenturyLink is harder to kick at than league average stadiums?

I remember Hauschka and his unit would travel back and forth between the practice field and the stadium because he felt he got better practice time in.

Kicker is the perfect example of how Pete is still trying to win games this year. For a total rebuild we should absolutely be unloading our extremely expensive volatile kicker and taking a shot on some cheap youth. Finding a young kicker with some promise could be bumpy this season but would pay dividends in the future.

Instead, we seem to be sticking with a 31 year old veteran with the 5th highest kicker cap hit in 2022 who was one of the worst kickers last season. The reason is that Pete is trying to claw out as many 2022 wins as possible and hoping Myers bounces back to 2020 form.
