So take X million and turn it into minimum salary and then the rest is bonus. The bonus is met if he shows up at camp
I don't think the stalemate is figuring out how to throw Kam a bone, the stalemate is John and the Hawks don't want to re-do or renegotiate a player's contract with three years left on it.
My guess is John already made a promise that if Kam has a good year they'll look at taking care of him next off season somehow...........but that must not have been good enough to get him in camp.
Which makes me think this is gonna get ugly, Kam doesn't seem like the kind of guy that's going to walk into camp with his tail in between his legs cause he got nothing.
