I'm glad someone brought up the subject of the "exec of the year" award because I have thought about it and broken down the reasons.

2010: the hawks were a rebuilding team and there was nothing about 2010 that screamed "exec of the year".
2011: the hawks continued rebuilding and had a stellar draft (even with carp and moffit) but it wasn't apparent at the time how good the draft was (sherman especially).
2012: the award was WRONGLY given to ryan grigson of the colts because of their turnaround. The problem is the colts were not as bad as the previous season's record indicated, nor were they as good in 2012 as their record indicated.

2013: a lot of people on here aren't going to like this, but the Percy Harvin trade is what cost Schneider the award. If the trade never happened or if Harvin produced for us then Schneider would have won. When a GM makes a huge move like that and it backfires then you simply can't give the award to that GM.

2014: Schneider will win for sure if we repeat. Because the Harvin trade was 2013 it won't impact Schneider's chances even if Harvin is hurt again. Schneider would be credited with keeping the talent at Super Bowl quality and I just don't see how he could be snubbed.

Repeat as champions and he will have the award.

Bobby Engram in 2007, biggest snub of a comeback award if I ever saw one.

I didn't realize it until I looked at our WRs over the years, but Engram was the best veteran FA WR we ever signed (jerry rice doesn't count because he wasnt good here).

I can't really go way way back... so from my POV right now your looking at Engram, 1 season of Joe Jurevicious, and a budding Doug Baldwin (who I'll consider a FA).
