Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. And wow, I didn't realize it was a 2026 pick. I get the salary dump aspect of it, but I guess I thought there would be more competition for a top-flight O-lineman.

Yes, @Bear-Hawk, for a 4th and a 6th, the Bears got two Pro Bowl O-linemen.

They do have to pay them a lot, though--about $16-17 million each. But at least the Bears have the cap space.

(ESPN did give the Bears a D grade on the Jackson trade, however. The Rams had clearly given up on him and wanted to dump his salary.)

Yeah, I am more excited by Thuney trade. He’s a real stud. I expect we draft another IOL with a second round pick. I hope so.

Thuney was a hell of a get by the Bears even if he is getting a little long in the tooth. Still one of the best. Hope we can make some meaningful moves like this, FA or trade, for our oline.
