49ers fan nightmare: ownership forces Shanahan to play Lance, even if he's a significant downgrade from either of the other two guys. (And he is. Most certainly.)

Bottom line is, Purdy looks great in Shanahan's system. Even if they rolled snake eyes on Lance, they still got a guy that can win a lot of games if he's (correctly) given the job that he earned last season.
