Jamal Adams explains his Michael Jordan-inspired affinity for talking trash


He’ll talk his talk to anybody who will listen following a positive play by the defense. That includes when Adams is on the sideline. He’ll regularly run onto the field, congratulate his teammates and then bark at the offensive sideline before hustling off the field so he doesn’t get in the way of the next snap.

Adams is like a rottweiler that comes into your yard and barks at you with zero desire to go back to his own home.

I guess Adams can do all the talking he wants so long as he maintains a level of personal performance to back it up.
I only once approved of trash talk that wasn't "just for fun' and that was by the guy who originally opened the door to trash talk...Mohammed Ali. He talked the talk and he backed it up. Imagine Ali as a football player!

Never been a giant fan of trash talk but I always made an exception for the Sonics legendary PG Gary "The Glove" Payton. I don't think there's ever been a player that could trash talk as good as he did while backing it up on the court with his skill. John Randle comes to mind. A player I wish was a Seahawk for his entire career and not just the tail end of it.
