I expect the Jaguars offer to be for less money but to include some guarantees. The Seahawks were likely trying to bring him back to compete for a roster spot without any guarantees.
I don't think they can offer less money than the tender value, and it's guaranteed. Maybe you mean incentives? That would make sense.

Well, I'm sorry we'll lose JSN after next season, but after we make bobo the highest paid receiver to keep him, we won't be able to afford JSN.
we will extend him this season (JSN)

Cody will have to take Bobos 3 or 4 reps.

Cody and Bobo were both staples in special teams and I think people forget that our special teams units won us multiple games this year. I’m not saying that we can’t replace a Bobo but let’s be real about the snap
Counts and try to remember that special teams are an important part of a team dynamic.

RFA tags are an extension of the current contract which isn't guaranteed. Bobo is entitled to sign any FA deal he wishes to sign. He can sign for less money with more guarantees if that is what he and another team agree upon. For historical reference in 2019 the Rams had a RB, (Malcolm Brown), become a RFA. The Rams tagged him at $2.025M. The Rams likely didn't intend to pay him that money but wanted him to compete for a back-up role. They would then likely have offered him significantly less with the threat of releasing him just before the start of the season if he didn't agree. Brown agreed to a Lions offer sheet of $3.3M over 2 years with about $1.6M in the 1st year, but the 1st year was guaranteed. The Rams agreed to match the Lions offer.

I doubt Hawks keep Bobo. Cody White. Get ready young man. A slot just opened up ahead of the draft… 🤔. There are some interesting dudes. Wish we had a couple more draft picks.

So everything I read has the jags offer pretty much as follows

2 years $5.5 million (up to $7 million with incentives) $4.5 million guaranteed so basically it averages out to $2.75 -$3.5 million per season over the two years.

We tendered him at 1 year $3.52 million. If we were truly willing to pay him that money then the contract should be easy to match. It really just comes down to if he’s in our plans for 2027 or not.

Cody White was active for a game late last season where Bobo was inactive. Both players were healthy and available. White should be ahead of Bobo on 2026 unofficial depth charts, and the top 3 spaces were already settled upon. The Seahawks would like Bobo back for competition, but I doubt they'd be willing to match any significant guarantee. Bobo looks to be WR5 at best before possible additions come in the Draft.

If the Seahawks don't match the Jag's offer for Bobo, there's Bobo 2.0 in 2026 draft. His name is Chase Roberts.

If we want a Bobo then we should keep him not look for another. Wasting a draft pick on receiver with how few we have is a waste of that resource. If we want to bring in some Undrafted FA we can do that but I think we need to focus our picks in other areas this year.

Jacksonville is helping set the market for Bobo.

That another team is interested in a quality player that brings so much to team culture is of little surprise to me.

We kid a lot around here about Bobo, but fact that they tendered him says he has value to the team beyond his stats.

We tendered him at $3.52 million in 2026. What makes you think we aren’t willing to pay that for two years (assuming he makes the incentives)?
Hypothetically dont we save .52m in ‘26 assuming we got him back on his tender?

Edit: I guess .27m considering his bonuses.

Main differences are when he gets his checks and the fact that he has both a decent signing bonus and most of it guaranteed with the Jags contract. Dollar value isn’t all that different overall.

The Seahawks tendered him not because they expected to pay the $3.5M. He would have been a target to be cut all through camp unless he agreed to a lesser contract. Right now the RFA tender costs the Seahawks nothing because it has zero guarantees.

The Seahawks tendered him because they could see an outside market for him and wanted to drive up his value, perhaps to swing a trade of some sort. He's a Jaguar in my mind 100%.
