The Colts have named Daniel Jones as their starting QB, opting for the veteran over Anthony Richardson Sr.

It may be what it takes for Richardson to learn and to mature. Richard may not be ready; every QB is different. Russell Wilson was ready on day one, Richardson isn't, not even in year 2 or 3, it took Geno Smith years to get ready. Milroe on the other hand, is more Wilson than Smith.

The same Colts who put Manning out there and he turned out fine
after that first season, throwing all those int's.
AR should never have been picked that high unless you knew he was
going to be a starter from the start and stick.
Where Milroe was picked and is sitting as QB3 is exactly where AR
should have been as well.
A dumb pick by the Colts but to say ruined? AR has never shown
he was anything before being picked besides the big arm/body.
Look at how many these media hyped QBs bust.

The Packers have been really good a having a QB on the bench for a few years before playing them. First round pick Arron Rodgers sat on the bench for three years. Love was on the bench for a couple of years. It sure seems like the formula works.

In general, the NFL sucks at developing young QBs, and they give up on legitimate talents way too soon.

Even if these said great QBs that got drafted in the first round sat
for two years, it doesn't mean they wouldn't bust..
Most QBs bust out of the NFL for various reasons and most of it is
on them.
You get your chance, you better show up and do all possible to prove
yourself.

I heard a different take on Richardson from a former QB. He said that Richardson needs the reps, that he only got half or less than half the reps in college than most all of the QB's drafted in recent years, that he's not going to get any better sitting and watching. He said that AR would make for a bad backup QB, not the kind of guy you want to come in and hold the fort when your starter goes down. He said the only way you're going to find out once and for all about AR is by playing him.
