From nfl.com...

"I don't know if the Seahawks will survive their upcoming gauntlet and make the playoffs, but they are a better team that is more fun to watch than they were a year ago, when all those Super Bowl champion defenders were still on the roster."

Totally agree.

I went into this season with hope rather than conviction but after watching the team the last few games and seeing them begin to believe in themselves/understand the new schemes (delete as appropriate) I am really looking forward to the tests over the next few weeks.

As an added bonus, my Company has asked me to work in North Carolina from 24 November for a couple of weeks so I will be cheering the Hawks on against the Panthers in person for my first ever Hawks game.

Go Hawks!

This team has already shown enough to match the realistic expectations that we had as fans, which is that they'd be a good, young team. They clearly are. No matter what else happens this season, every fan will go into next year optimistic, thinking about adding a bit more quality from the draft, getting a bit more room in cap space etc., so there will definitely be positivity going into next season after what we've seen this year. The only thing that can happen from now to the end of the season is the team going above and beyond realistic expectations, by getting to the Championship game or making the Superbowl but I do think this is a playoff calibre team and I'm hopeful of getting at least a 9-7 record.

We've got what we wanted. We wanted to see the draft succeed and I think it has, we wanted to see the team gel under new coaches, we wanted to see Carroll prove he still had it, we wanted to see Wilson adapt behind a better line, we wanted to see improvement in the running game...so we've had it good so far. Now hopefully the team finishes strong and instead of next year us thinking " I hope we kick on and make the playoffs" it'll be "I hope we kick on and get to the Superbowl".

Good points Bolton. With all the turnover (players and coaches) all we could as for was some improvement. Shoot, the O Line has been a massive positive and surprise.
Fortunately, the improvement came a lot quicker and it looks like this team is on the rise, big time.

We all thought we had bad linemen for the last 3 years. When in reality we had bad coaches.
The current O team ( O-line, O-cordinator) with the previous defense would have had another SB run in them. No doubt.

The Hawks could lose the rest of their games this season and the fake punt alone would keep me satisfied until next year!

I wouldn't go that far.

Good to see them doing so well. Building up some momentum here. Home game should help. Would be nice to go into LA with a few wins behind us.

A little of both really. The coaching was bad. There are two guys on the line that weren’t here last year. And a third who wasn’t here until the second half of the year. Also, between better coaching and now experience, Ifedi is actually pretty ok.

Very exciting time for us.

These next few weeks, we're going to be sorely tested. Expectations are probably higher than they rightfully should be. But Seattle also has a true opportunity to separate themselves from the good young team into merely a good team. Next year's optimism should be pretty high.

We have multiple games on this slate that look exactly like the 2011 game against the Ravens. That season was kind of a lost season at 7-9. But I always considered that game in Seattle as the moment where our team changed forever. We were always a soft WCO team and Pete was trying to turn our culture around. And we didn't just beat the biggest/baddest bullies in the NFL, but we outclassed their physical play almost comically. And even though we had the 'Merry Christmas Seattle' game at the end of that year, we showed we were ascending and could be true peers with the toughest teams in this league. And that momentum transitioned to the 42-13 year and we never looked back.

Seattle is going to have that opportunity to really refresh their brand as the biggest/baddest team in the league these next few weeks. Winning or losing is ancillary to me, it's going to be how we win or lose that will matter. I'm super excited to see how this transformation continues to evolve.

I'm very pleased with the direction the team is moving in at present. I hope they continue to improve.

Not having to listen to the likes of Sherman talk and talk and talk after every game is enough for me.

Unfortunately, the negativity wasn't limited to just after the games.

It permeated and became entrenched into the off season as well.

I understand the uncertainty of the many changes from last year to this year, but criticism was free flowing and it seemed that many were pessimistic. It was difficult reading.

I'll probably be accused of being a band wagon fan since I rarely comment and am only doing so lately. (I can assure most of you that I have been watching since before out first Super Bowl against Big Ben). It's just more fun now to come here.

I didn't have high hopes about a win-loss record and didn't expect the playoffs, but I wanted to see enthusiasm and excitement from our new young players. The Griffen brothers and DJ Fluker are just two of the highlights among many.

I was sorry to see Sherman go (I liked his jawing-sorry Toffee!) but the I have to admit the team is more cohesive without some of the more disruptive players.

I remember going to Detroit and thinking we had a win back in 2012only to have Stafford lead a furious comeback to steal the win. Not this time even with the bs interference call. I remember that Rave game too. Lynch had Ray Lewis grabbing air. I think lynch had a move-the-pile type of td too. We’re right back there just starting to rise. It’s awesome.
