Is Wilson becoming a turnover machine?

Or is it a product of the bad defense?
Is he over compensating or just bad decisions passing or holding on to the ball.
4 turnovers is a huge point swing.

Tends to happen when you have a historically bad defense, have lost your top 3 running backs, and have a weak o-line. I don't think we've ever seen a QB play well with a defense this bad.

It's all related to the defense. Other than that last turnover when he got hit by an unblocked defender, the other turnovers were a direct result of him forcing things because the defense is so terrible that he knows he needs to score a TD every drive to stay in the game.

A fourth down inside the five with no one open. Interception.

Holding onto the ball buying time to make a play downfield. Sack fumble.

A third and 25 forced downfield in an attempt to pick up an impossible first (impossible unless you are playing the Seahawks D). Interception.

Trying too hard because MVP on the line. I do not buy the whole. "I want only wins MVP doesn't matter" thing. He psychologically is one of those dudes who obsesses over being the best ever, so to say not getting an MVP will not bug him is BS. He says one thing in front on the camera to keep his public image a certain way. He has been pressing more and more as he has begun to get all this media hype making boneheaded throws etc. Almost all of his picks have been TERRIBLE picks, like rhe kind that you see a Rick Mirer make. It is asinine.

With that said, I think he will return to high caliber play now that its pretty obvious he is out of the MVP race barring a massive collapse by people like Mahomes and Rodgers.

More attempts
More risk
Higher turnovers

It's like when a bank decides to be more risky when handing out loans to those with lackluster credit. You'll charge a higher interest rate to generate more income, but sometimes you'll get burned.

He still has 26 TDs, 6 INTs through 8 games. That's great

28 and 8 now. Still on pace to set the all-time single season TD record.

Are you close to Wilson? It sounds like you know him quite well as you are telling us what type of guy he is and how his public persona is not who he really is?

I think he wants to win, that's what I think.

No NFL caliber tailbacks (with no fullbacks) + Shaky O-line + Trailing by 2+ scores the whole game thends to leave you risking more TO's.

He has to ball out because every drive without points means our D will give up points. Hell the Bills punted once today!

He's forced more passes this year than usual. I think he realizes how poor this defense is.

Hmm seems we have a split those that understand when you get hit, hurried, sacked or pressured on over 60% of you drop backs, and have a defense giving up 28+ points a game, you tend to feel like you have to force things.

And others who have been waiting to be able to blame Wilson and announce his MVP race is over with glee I might add. How pathetic are they.

Getting Jameis Winston vibes from him lately. I guess that's what happens when you're a team that relies on one of 53 players every week.

That would make it a Coachign issue then.

Don't get Winston vibe though, Winston was always like that, Wilson has not been.

Winston is an extreme example, but Russ is being forced to do EVERYTHING for this team right now, leading to a lot of risk/reward plays that, by probability, are going to lead to an uptick in turnovers.

He's nowhere near a problem for this team, but we're seeing that, just like every other QB in the league, he's human.
