If it is... there's all the talk of "contingency plans" where the game could be played as early as Friday or postponed to Monday. I think they've got some cutoff day this next week to solidify the date if it is to be changed. Goodell said they wouldn't mind seeing snow during the game, but apparently there's a limit to that if it's seen in the forecast. Bill Parcells said it's primarily the wind that would be an issue for the teams. But, of course, the NFL is thinking of the fan experience as well for the Super Bowl.

Yet... the NY/NJ site was approved despite the potential for all this.

I hope it does snow, just a little, but the more elements the better for us. Sorry Peyton

Oh man, could you imagine it in snow. And Manning has to start relying mainly on Moreno and Monte Ball... Good lord that would be sweet.

Worth noting snow can really help an offense too. In the Philly/Detroit game nobody could tackle on either team. Or change direction on defense.

I'd rather just let our talent do it's thing in clear conditions.

Yeah- even Pete said the snow (Phili) helped the offense. Would rather have wind and rain...

This is where I'm at on the subject as well. Having the championship in adverse weather like this is beyond stupid. It has the potential to be a real gong show, which is so not cool. Just let the two teams square off with everything completely neutral and let the talent decide.

Although in the wind and rain, our own Defense was saying their tackling was sloppy because everything was so slippery in our rain games.

It goes both ways.

Again, I think these are the potential weather issues that will determine whether the date of the game would be flexed. I don't think snow necessarily favors the offense or defense. It depends on what it does to the field conditions. If they forecast the type of whether for that Philly/Det game... that might favor the offense as others have pointed out. But, that would be severe enough to be concerned about fan experience and therefore wouldn't be a surprise to see the game date flexed. Hope that's not the case (necessary to change the date), but that's a possibility. Hopefully the game is able to get the viewership that it deserves... especially for the world to see our Hawks win their first Super Bowl Championship.

Ahhh... great news. That's an improved forecast from what I saw earlier today. 12 days out isn't always super accurate, but we'll gladly take this and hope for the best.
(Side note, did you think of a good bet with "the coach"? ;) I know you probably don't want that broadcast.)

I'm hoping for good weather. I don't want our first SB win to be tainted, by anything. No *s, no excuses. Just a good old fashioned, football beat down.

I agree 100%. I can understand folks wanting an edge but they act like Manning is going to break in half. Just line them up and let the best team win. Would suck if it isn't the Seahawks but stuff happens.

What is neutral though?
If you took the weather in all 32 NFL stadiums, do you think the weather would be more likely to be dry and sunny or rainy/windy/snow y?

That's my fear as well. When the snow stopped falling it was a shootout.

I think cold and windy favors us a lot more than cold and snowy

I agree. I want to see strength in strength not a slop bowl due to weather where chaos reigns.
